It is already surprising to note that, unlike the vast majority of cities, the main square is not called Simon Bolivar. Around the square are some very pretty colonial-style houses, but above all the unfinished cathedral (unlike its equivalent in Bogota) which gives a special character to this monument). For history buffs, know that Garcia Marquez, as well as the current president of Colombia, did part of their studies in this city.

The main square in the little town of Zipaquira, carries much history. However it is just nice to see people just walking, selling products or just enjoying themselves. There are nice shops around the square even a café in a corner that serves you some licor in your coffee. Not such a bad choice.

the entire historic center of ths small town is absolutely gorgeous, I spent about one hour just xhilling while drinking a coffee and looking at the beautifully decorated buildings, I like it far more than the Simon Bolivar in Bogota's own historic center,

One of the most beautiful churches with a stone facade. The plaza is filled with a giant Christmas tree. The surrounding homes are colorful with beautiful pic opportunities. A must visit in this area.

Very peaceful place. With wide space for running or playing or just staring at the beautiful houses and the environment. Don't miss to enter the Cathedral. Is amazing!!

Returned after more than two years and found that this historic square has been improved with repairs and painting of all the religious, government and private houses surrounding the entire square. All the historic plates have been cleaned and the square itself is free of litter. Worthwhile to visit on any day of the week. I had come on week ends with lots of crowds, but this time on a week day, was as pleasant as previously.
