This lovely park includes miles of well-maintained trails for runners and walkers. It is very flat, with minimal elevation change. This makes it an easy run... and perfect for walkers across all age groups, from small children to the elderly. I have several times seen families with infants/children in strollers on these paths. This is not a strenuous path for those wanting a more challenging run with significant hills.
I have always felt absolutely safe from early morning to late evening, but I would not advise running/walking here after dark. And though I have never personally witnessed them, friends have told me stories and there are reports of bear in this area. Please remember that these are wild animals and can be very dangerous.
With those cautions...
Whether you are solo, a couple or a group, Go and have Fun in Shoreline Park!

A nice walk with pleasant views to reminisce with friends from Ontario. It can be busy at times as this is a favourite spot for walking clubs.

This is a lovely place to have a long walk, or just to walk off the meal that you just had at the Boathouse. I really like the walk at the very end of the Inlet. When I lived in Port Moody, I would do this walk starting at the Ice Rink, along by the Hatchery and then all of the way to the Rocky Point Pier, and back again several times a week.

For years now, I have enjoyed disembarking the Skytrain near Ioco Road, strolling through the new town centre, perhaps stopping for a coffee, then walking the inlet to Rocky Point Park, where Pajo's and some great ice cream await.
Imagine my surprise to find that all trails are now one-way east! Thus, had to use the bike trail adjacent the road for a good part of this half hour hike.
No big deal - Covid has taught us how to adapt, but a reminder to me (and perhaps to you?) to check out changes before you go.
Did manage to get to Rocky Point with nothing worse than a bit of a burn on my left arm. But, I say again - learn from my mistakes, check for route changes!

We go here often to walk the trail, that goes from the pier to the other side of the inlet. You can walk the pavement or wooden walkways and paths.

More of a hike than a walk, with a separate paved trail for bikes. Not well signed, but start at Rocky Point Park and go to the east end near the water. The trails head east and go around the end of the inlet to continue on the north side. Surprisingly dry and solid under foot, given the recent amount of rain. Sadly, wheelchairs won't get far. Restrooms at the west end in Rocky Point Park.

Shoreline park connects Rocky Point Park and Old Orchard beach. Its about 6km round trip. Take the trail and enjoy the water views, be sure to stop at the old brickworks if the tide is out for some nice views of the inlet. A great place to run, or walk, for the less sure of foot there is a paved trail slightly farther back from the water. Old Orchard beach is a nice quiet family spot, good for a picnic. On the other side is Rocky Point and all the commotion that comes with it. Water park for the kids, bandstand with all sorts of events, Pajos fish and chips, Rocky Point ice cream, The Boathouse restaurant, and of course on the opposite side of the street 4 local craft breweries. And if that wasn't enough to make it busy there is a pier, a boat launch (busy all summer), the paddling centre and Rocky Point kayak.
Lots to see and do, the Shoreline Park trail is a great way to take it all in.

Shoreline Park is connected to Rocky point Park. This park is for walking, jogging (trail 2.3 km long one way) and cycling (trail 3 km long one way). The park is right beside Burrard Inlet, you can have a relaxing stroll and enjoy the scenery, and sometimes you even can see the black capped chickadees and nuthatches. Best of all is lots of wild black berry bushes along the trail; it’s the black berry lovers heaven. Because this trail is located in the urban forest, you will be protected by the shade in the afternoon sun. You can park your car on Murray Street. We love this trail, whenever we have time we will come here.

Love this trail from Rocky Point to Old Orchard. Picnic and playgrounds, kayaks, sailboats, standup paddle boards! Ice cream, fish and chips food trucks. Station Museum at Rocky Point has a real display of WWII trenches or on to the Dog park
Trails (walking and biking) a salmon hatchery, rec centre
Close jaunt to Starbucks,
Cafe Divano, or A handful of other shops at Suter Brook. Wander along the trails to Old Orchard, check out the Friday pond or Old Mill.
Seriously what is NOT to enjoy with Shoreline Park joining world class (I think) sites to see.

This narrow park that surrounds the Eastern end of Burrard Inlet features both a paved trail for biking, inline skating, walking, running etc. as well as a gravel trail and boardwalk for walking and running. Good views of the inlet are best obtained from the gravel trail and associated bird watching stations.
