About
Yellow Dog Brewing is a family-run brewery focused on producing high quality locally crafted beer for everyone to enjoy. In the summer of 2014, Mike and Melinda Coghill opened up Port Moody’s very first craft brewery to bring great beer and a family atmosphere to the craft beer world and our little part of Vancouver. Embraced by the community, Yellow Dog has grown into one of BC largest breweries. Liam Murphy heads our brewing team and with a focus on high quality and innovative beers. The singular focus on the quality of beer has led to many awards and a strong following for our core offerings. We are a functioning brewery with an on-site tasting room and patio. Come in and enjoy any one of our latest concoctions and have a peak into our attached brewery to see what is going on today. Our tasting room staff can answer any of your questions about our beer or beer in general. We love our dogs, our community and of course, great beer.

This was one of the more enjoyable stops along the Port Moody offerings of the Ale Trail. There was a wait to get in this was the only establishment where no staff checked with waiting guests--we were just left standing in a holding room with no idea where things stood as far as potential service went.
The beer selection was decent with some collaboration choices.

Yellow Dog was the first brewery in Port Moody I've ever visited, and since then, it grew into a very well-recognized brand. I think they did an outstanding job establishing their presence across the Lower Mainland's liquor stores early in their history, thus, gaining good exposure. But that success is definitely backed up by the very well-crafted brews they offer. I'd take their Play Dead IPA and Squirrel Chaser HPA any day. Simply outstanding. They also have very cool collabs with other breweries, so guest taps are something to look out for as well. Great people, great beer, great place.

The Port Moody brewery, Yellow Dog, makes lots of brews worth chasing.
I am visiting my generous son & family this November. Delightfully, I found a fridge stocked with various IP& IPAs — my favorite style of beer — in the suite adjacent to their family home in which I am staying.
I am just now tasting YD’s Chase My Tale Pale Ale.
It is delicious & a well-balanced craft brew.
More YD brews are in my son’s selection to taste.
YD is open 7 days a week for on site consumption or takeaway brews — Sunday to Tuesday from 12 to 9, Wednesday til 10 pm & all other days until 11 pm.

In this craft brewery, you have the best chopp, including with ginger.
A cordial, bilingual service in English or Portuguese. The environment is airy and the outdoor environment is great, several tables and from time to time you liked the passing train that comes from Vancouver to Port Coquitlam.
It's worth it.

We've been in Vancouver a couple years and even though we love craft beer we somehow never made it out to Brewers Row in Port Moody until this summer. We know Yellow Dog made excellent beer and we loved the space. Our bartender (Natalie?) was by far the friendliest person we encountered all day (and everyone was nice) and really made it a special first visit. Thanks to her! We still want to meet Chase- next time!

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Yellow Dog Brewery. I purchased a T-shirt from their merchandise section, and after just one wash, it shrank significantly. I reached out to them on Instagram to explain the situation but received no response.
Taking it a step further, I visited the brewery in person, hoping to resolve the issue directly. Unfortunately, the attendant I spoke to was unhelpful and refused to exchange the shrunken T-shirt. It’s shocking that a business would treat its customers this way, especially when it comes to quality and customer service.
I had high expectations for Yellow Dog Brewery, but this experience has left a bitter taste. I won’t be returning and certainly won’t recommend them to others. They need to improve their customer service and product quality if they want to retain their customers.

The kids gave me a cycling jersey from this brewery for Christmas. Had heard of it before and decided to check it out on a rainy day in the city. While the decor is minimalistic, to be sure, I can just imagine what this place would be like on a beautiful spring day, with the doors open wide and the view of the water. The beer is excellent! Enjoyed a tasting flight with my husband, and got him a comfy long sleeved shirt, too.

The Port Moody area of BC is beautiful, especially Rocky Point Park. My friends and I took the West Coast Express from Waterfront Skytrain Station in Vancouver and the view of the ocean, through Vancouver into Port Moody is beautiful. We walked about 20 minutes from Port Moody Station to the Yellow Dog. There’s a big picture of a beautiful golden lab (we believe it is) dog welcoming you into the pub! It’s directly across from Rocky Point Park, there’s a parking lot for the designated drivers of your outing, otherwise it’s easy to get there via skytrain, bus or West Coast Express, taxi. There are big vats on the premises where they create their signature kraft beers, they also have merchandise for sale, food and beverages. We sat outside where they have long picnic tables you can sit at, the ground is grass and wood chip material; with the area enclosed by the back of the pub and fencing. Large open area where the skytrain runs by it, many people had their children in strollers there too and Smoking was not permitted from what we saw. It was a fun time with lots of people there; inside are stand up/bar stools at the table seating. The women’s washroom wasn’t the nicest however it was clean enough. Fun relaxed atmosphere for drinks and pub food; lots of younger people and Staff were friendly.

Great atmosphere; great beer. Love the back yard area with chill spring vibes. Fresh cheese bread from Cobs is always a good snack with the beer. Full of good times, nice servers and friendly patrons.

For one of the best summer days ever try walking this strip of breweries in Port Moody. Casual seating and small dog dinner friendly area. You can bring your own food along with the whole family. It reminded me of an English Pub. They have a beer for everyone. Try a flight of beer if you are experimental or pick one you know you want. Thumbs up Yellow Dog.
