The ancient Greek ruins are well stabilized and explained with good signage. Imagine sitting in the theater with a clear view of the sea beyond the stage. The theater was being set up for performances when we visited. A small museum houses few finds from...More

Tindari may not compare with the theatres in Siracusa or Taormina but its remote clifftop location is stunning and worth visiting in late afternoon for panoramic views of north coast and mountain ranges of Sicily.

Whenever I visit tindari, I spend the day there. Have something to eat and relax and enjoy the day. Walk around the ruins and explore. Definitely worth a visit.

Difficult to find as sign posting terrible but worth the effort just for the mosaics and views. The theatre would be great to see a play in the summer

To get to the archeological ruins at Tindari (Tyndaris) you need first to get to the vast sanctuary dominating the landscape and then drop down past all the tacky stalls. Officially you need to park at the bottom of the hill and take the shuttle...More
