This is not a place you are likely to visit, unless you are already on the Transfagarian, and in that case, it is definitely worth a stop. It is impressive to look down from the dam, and the view of the mountains are simply amazing.

A place to do when going through transfagarasan. It's impressive on both side: the lake and in the other one the river Arges. On top of one mountain, you can see also a big statue which looks like a "Golgoth".

This electric power dam forms a long lake which the Transfagarasan Highway follows along the shore line of. Parking is very limited on each side. Love the art work up on the right side.

It wasn't on the plan to see Vidraru Dam, my mum was there last year and she was impressed. The road it's not great but it was after a heavy rain and the view it's stunning and definitely made the trip.

It's nice enough but not a world beater. You will see it because you are driving the Transfagarasan so stop and have a look if you can find a parking spot.

This place is worth stopping at to take a few pictures but finding parking could be hard. The view is just breath taking and beautiful.

Well it's a symbol of the humans power. Try to turn into the gravel road right after the dam and drive for a few kilometers. This road will present you some fascinating views.

Tourism means more than just a great scenery! After visiting the Transfagarasan road crossing the Carpathians, I obviously drove to the Vidraru Dam as well, another great place presented by Top Gear. I say great place, because the construction itself, and the nature around it...More
