I spent 4 days at the meditation retreat at doi suthep learning to meditate. While i didn't mind the loud noises of the cable car, or the logging, the hygiene definitely needs a review. The first room they gave me had a ant colony under...More

One of the must do attractions in Chiang Mai. Spectacular views over the city and certainly worth the 306 steps from the road below to view the temple and surrounds. For the less firm, take the cable lift.

You can either walk up the 306 Naga steps to the Wat or take the cable lift. Upon the top you can sense the devotion and prayers offered to the Buddha. There are vantage points overseeing the city of Chiang Mai. Must see!

Wat Phra Doing Suthep is, quite simply, one of the greatest temples we have ever visited. If you're in Chiang Mai and don't visit, you're nuts! First is the location high above the city. From there in a clear day you can see the whole...More

Just 30-45 mins outside of old city is Doi Suthep temple. Highest viewing point gives you amazing views of Chiang Mai. Temple requires a steep climb, about 125 steps. Temple grounds are nice and main square is nice spacious with Buddhist shrines and temple.

The temple itself it's a nice place, with touch of nature around, amazing view on top, etc but it can get very crowded with flock of tourists. Luckily it was raining once we got up there, which makes the place a bit quiet. And we...More

This is probably a must if visiting Chiang Mai. The views of the city are excellent and the golden pagoda is resplendent. It is busy so suggest not to go in the weekend and watch out for what you wear especially if you're female. Remember...More
