Smith Street runs off Victoria Parade and ends at Alexander Parade. This is the Melbourne Alternative, a lot of it is just plain kinky. A lot of artists have studios around Smith St, also fashion designers. There's also quite a bit of street art. You...More

Smith Street is on the improve but it still has a way to go. There are now a number of good restaurants and boutique shops but some parts of the street remain tacky and in poor condition. Nearby Brunswick Street has done it better.

This street offers restaurants, cafes and some discount outlet shops, mainly sporting and outdoor stores, plus Gloweave shirts! If you out that way go! Also lots of old houses and narrow streets around the area and just a good Melbourne experience.

Smith street is a deluge of second hand shops, antiques, food shops, posh restaurants, cafes, bars, and everything else in between. If visiting wind in and out of Smith to see the street art and get a gelato at Messina. The cultural mish mash of...More
