While driving along the lake we passed several wineries and decided to stop at this location.
The hostess met us at the front and we mentioned we were there for a few drinks and lunch. We noticed there were tables in the sun and requested a table in the sun. (It was a sunny November day.) At that time the tables in the sun were occupied and the hostess mentioned several people were just finishing up. (There were other tables under a white tent but it was cooler in the shade.)
The hostess gave us a menu and we walked into the building to get a drink.
We looked at the various wine options and decided on a rose wine. The huge sign right above the wine clearly said $12.95.
Just before ordering, the lady working inside pointed us to a wine list that broke down the flavour of each wine.
We read about the rose wine and again, next to the description, the price said $12.95. We confirmed which bottle we wanted and once rung up, the cost was now $28. Yes, 125% more that the cost advertised in 2 different areas.
Being a bit disgruntled, we ended up ordering 2 glasses instead.
As we went back outside, we noticed one of the tables in the sun was now empty so we sat there looking over the menu to order lunch. Keep in mind, this is a Monday at 2 pm in November - not very busy. As our glasses of wine arrived, the hostess came over and said we couldn’t sit there. Our only option was in the shade which clearly we told her upon our arrival we didn’t want or an Adirondack chair. With no way of having lunch sitting in a chair, we just left without even taking a sip of our drinks.
Before writing this review, we read several other reviews and noticed one other reviewer mentioned his meal was $10 more than listed.
There are several wineries in this area that we’ll continue to support, just not this one, sorry.

I visited recently and was amazed at the beautiful gardens! I wanted to do some tasting and was told i had three options. Of the three options. i had no say in what wines i wanted to taste. I found this to be very odd. I received three whites one. rose and one red. The miniscule portions arrived in plastic shot glasses, while being offered only one wine glass. The plastic shot glasses arrived in a McDonalds cardboard tray.. The description of the wines were found on a QR code on the table, no personal interaction regarding the wines. The server was very polite. For the ambiance and price point of the wines i think you can do MUCH better in the presentation of your product.

We drove in to check it out but it didn’t pique our interest enough to stick around.

The grounds are spacious and well kept. There was a large granite boulder hanging from a frame. I checked it out to see if there was a description or perhaps the winery’s name but there was nothing🙄 A large tent welcomed those wishing to be outdoors and live music (2 guitars) was happening in a smaller tent. We had teens with us and decided this venue wasn’t right for them. It was more befitting of a romantic interlude.

This was a celebration of my sister's retirement from teaching. A beautiful September day, sitting outside sipping wine........it doesn't get any better!
We ordered a flight of 3 wines, all delicious! I really enjoyed the unoaked Chardonnay and the Pinot Grigio!
We ordered the fresh perch lunch special......delicious!!!
We strolled though the grounds and got some pictures of the special day. We also got to meet the owners, what a treat!
We each bought a bottle of wine as a memento of the day.
A walk down the road to the lake is almost a must.
Highly recommend this winery for a visit!

I was at Oxley Winery with a group of ladies this past weekend and it was perfect. Our server was lovely, the oysters were fresh but most importantly the duck wings… the duck wings were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten in my life and I’m usually a little tough to please with food. I would order this every time and can’t wait to bring others there to enjoy the patio and those delicious wings!

Made our first trip out to Oxley. The grounds were very pretty and the inside sampling and retail area was bright and clean. We enjoyed lunch outdoors and had the perch and chips and burgers. All very good. Service was a bit slow but all tables were full so that is most likely the reason. I don't drink but some of my party did not care for the wine they had with lunch. Overall a very nice experience and would go again.

First sunny day presented the opportunity to take my 21 year old Porsche Boxster out of mothballs and go for a drive down County Road 50. The road is home to many of Essex County's wineries, including the Oxley Estate Winery. The outside patio was full, with people enjoying the sun. We ate inside. Great service, friendly and easy going. I had the Lake Erie Yellow Perch lunch and my son had the Wild Mushroom Pea Risotto. Both were excellent. Of course, we had to have a glass of wine to accompany the lunch. I had the Cab Franc and my son had a Chardonnay. Very nice.

We had read about the Oxley and surrounding area. We drove about 2 hours to visit wineries. We visited the Oxley for lunch. Our meal was wonderful and an amazing atmosphere. We had soup of the day a potato leek and was delicious. My wife had the quiche and I had the barn burger. Both meals were delicious. We were able to take our time and not rushed. The staff were very polite. My wife is planning on taking friends to this winery and making an over night trip. We will visit again and bring friends.

My husband and I went during a Friday afternoon. The place was moderately busy, as they were setting up for an event. We approached the tasting bar and were served right away by a friendly staff member. We shared samples, as it was not our first wine-tasting that day. You got 4 samples for $4.

They had 2 wine varieties not normally seen in Canada: auxerrois and the regent. What is neat is that they pair the wine with different songs so you better understand the tone of the tasting.

Apparently they have cheese pairings and a restaurant, but we didn't have time to try them. Perhaps on another occasion.

Overall, they had decent wines and we left 2 bottles: a riesling and a regent.
