Lots to see but not easy to understand

Many of the stones have been moved and other than foundations its hard to know what was there at different periods. The museum is very good.

Just pulled off main road when spotted a sign .Appears small from outside and modest pensioners price to enter €2.25 so did not expect much. Turns out extensive ruins including mosaics and an excellent small museum with helpful guides. Apart from anything else lovely walk on a sunny day. Small TV presentation gave a good background guide .

There seems a little confusion in terminology - so to clear this up, the Temple of Aphrodite (otherwise known as the Sanctuary of Aphrodite) lies in the village of Kouklia, around 14km east of the town of Paphos and is the same location as the Paleopafos Museum. Together they form a listed UNESCO heritage site. The site is definitely worth... More

Seems the location is incorrect for this and I have submitted an amendment so I hope it gets updated. The Sanctuary (not temple) of Aphrodite is located in Kouklia just east of Pafos on the A6 and is a lovely archaeological site including the PaleoPafos museum. There are 2 reviews but really it's just one site with one entrance and... More

You need a couple of hours to do this properly. We had 1 hour, and ran round the site, spent half an hour in the museum. Museum is in a beautiful building and has a wonderful mosaic of Leda's bottom! and an interesting sarcophagus, and other bits and pieces. The sun was setting as we were there, very atmospheric. Such... More

Cheap entry to a very historical and important site. This UNESCO site is well-maintained with friendly guards and a good museum of artefacts. The video really sets the scene and it is lovely to be able to wander freely around the site.

Here you feel history! In the museum you find world-class pieces! The first statue of Aphrodite is one of best art pieces to understand how arts made an evolution over the centuries. 4,5 Euro to visit but you have also some Pokemon Go spots.

On this route there are many such places to take in to fill the day. The Temple of Aphrodite is a fascinating place to visit even though only little of the temple is there, but enough to whet the appetite and give the flavour. There is an interesting museum to visit. An hour or so is enough for me.

Thank Peter G
