Have you ever tried drinking a cactus?

Don’t miss this special experience when you’re on Bonaire! The Cadushy Distillery produces something you would have never imagined: excellent liqueur, made out of cactus.

Entrance to the Cadushy Distillery including a tour with explanation of the process and including the tasting of their liqueurs is entirely free! The only thing you need to bring is your good mood ;-)

This was our second visit and, quite frankly, I had gone to get the whiskey ( with an interesting hint of Cuban cigar)...highly recommended. However last time we had not seen the stills nor had heard the fascinating explanation of how the cactus liqueur was prepared. Well worth a visit (though, sorry, the liqueur was a little sweet for my... More

Never drank a cactus before... it was great. Mike gave us a great talk on how the different Liqueurs are made and we were able to sample everything. Quite interesting. No entrance fee. Easy to find.

Eric and his family gave us such a personal and special welcome that anyone would have thought we were old friends... Eric spoke with passion and knowledge about his creations. He clearly has his heart in what he does. He explained the whole process, described the various plants, the islands' cultural and historical traditions and got us to smell some... More

Having seen the cactus liqueur in shops in Bonaire, decided to go to the distillery. It's an interesting drive to Rincon on the widward side of the island, and you see they have plenty of cactus stock to work with. Very generous with the tasting samples as we arrived, and the they walk you across the courtyard to the small... More

We stopped at the Cadushy Distillery as part of our tour of Bonaire. The setting is quiet and inviting. There are pieces of artwork in the garden and Timmy the cat watches over his domain. The staff is friendly and the liquor tasting is free and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, as I was just about to purchase a bottle... More

We stopped in for a visit and a taste. Pretty cool little place with friendly employees who greeted us as soon as we walked up. The tour is very quick so don't plan a lot of time. More of a quick stop and then go eat in the area. We liked the tastings and purchased our favorite libation. Definitely worth... More

After a morning of diving we decided to take a visit. The shop is pretty easy to find with a lot of well marked signs. It's a lot smaller than we expected, but it wasn't overly busy so we didn't have to wait. The staff there are super friendly and started us off with a tasting and we ended up... More

A nice stop on our tour of Bonaire. A lovely garden setting to taste the cactus liqueur. After the free tasting, we all enjoyed a $5 cocktail. I had the green liqueur with Sprite. Very tasty. Others enjoyed the red liqueur mixed with Coke that tasted like a cherry Coke.

The lovely family that owns this distillery will tour you through their site and share the interesting methods in which they make alcohol from cactuses. We visit their site yearly and bring our favorite green liquor home. The only problem for us is that you can't buy Cadushy in Canada. PS: Try the rum balls, they are yummy!

Visiting Bonaire with my cousin and her husband, we took a trip up to Rincon and the Cadushy Distillery. The owners are very hospitable and very gracious, giving us a tour of the distillery. It is amazing that such delicious beverages can come from cactus! We each purchased several products to bring home. A great place to spend on a... More
