- B RhodesQueensland, Australia38 contributionsGood ExperienceWe had a very relaxing and peaceful day at the Nordik Spa! Lunch at the Tapas Bar & Lounge did not disappoint, the charcuterie board and duo dip were both refreshing and filling! Each and every pool or sauna we got into was lovely and the different zones of noise level around the spa were also brilliant! The one downside was the end of the day, we paid a lot for a classic hot chocolate at the Mezz Cafe but what we got wasn’t even worth $2. Luke warm and a cup half full is not what you expect. Finally upon leaving the spa I had to get money back on my debit card from the pre auth that had been done at the beginning of the day, the young gentleman and lady (who I would assume was some kind of supervisor) were not exactly the most friendly and quiet rude. Following this we asked to get a taxi and the gentleman wasn’t helpful at all, almost as though I was asking for too much just because I wanted a number? Overall a brilliant spa, just disappointed with the customer service from too many of the employees.Dear Bobbirthodes, We are glad that you had a relaxing and peaceful day. That is why we are here! We would like to apologize that every aspect of your visit did not hit the mark, especially where customer service is concerned. We will share your comments with our management team. - Wesnile141 contributionsNice Spa but overcrowdedNordic Spa is huge. Countess hot and cold pools and "tubs". Saunas galore, aromatherapy rooms, etc... Didn't have any treatments done as we just opted for a day pass.Did get to experience the "towel whip", that was unreal! Don't miss that! Three issues, the check in process is a mess and not very organized they need to button that up. You can only put $150.00 on your "bracelet" to charge food and drinks. One lunch and that's gone and you have to go get you card out of your locker and stand back on the check-in line to add more funds. Just very time consuming and not very "relaxing". Lastly they allow too many people on the premises. They really need to cap it as they do not have the facilities to accommodate everyone they allow in. Staff was super friendly and the spa is very clean and extremely well maintained.Dear Wesnile, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed the facilities and the aufguss ritual(the towel whip). The online reservations system is relatively new and our IT department are making constant adjustments to perfect it, this is true for the bracelet recharge technology and the flow of guests on the site. Guest feedback helps us constantly monitor this to ensure that each guest visit is a positive one. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. - Andrew CToronto, Canada179 contributionsRelaxation oasis! The height of relaxation in the Ottawa area. Lots of space to move about freely. Plenty of pools, saunas, and relaxation areas. Quiet zones, quiet talking, and loud zones are available for all types of crowds. Lots of towels around and fresh robes if needed, and pleasant touch to have lots of masks around for guests to keep switching out. Cool touchless door openers for covid safety. Wrist band for opening your lockers and for paying for treatments and food. Suggestion to come in the evening after the crows die down and the sun is about to set, the night time is beautiful and more relaxing. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking lot is usually very full. Good is good, drinks are a little pricey and they only serve one drink per visit to the bar (no ordering drinks for friends). Free tea stations and water bottle filling areas.Visited September 2021Travelled as a coupleWritten September 28, 2021

Firstly, I would like to preface by saying that I love a good spa experience, I have enjoyed spas in Niagara-on-the-lake, Toronto (Elmwood, Body Blitz), Ginza Tokyo and the list goes on, and so I value great orientation, food (if a restaurant is onsite), the smells etc.. to me it's all part of the experience. I visited the Chelsea location last week Friday for a massage for my birthday. This was my first time visiting the space and so I wasn't sure what was included with the massage, for example some spas provide access to water therapy with the purchase of a massage.
1. I arrived early for my massage, the surroundings is quite pretty. I like the overall set-up of the place.
2. I was not provided with a robe upon entry, instead I was directed upstairs to fill-out the usual health form and so that's what I did. I thought that at some point in time someone would come out, provide me with a robe and offer me some tea or water, but this was not the case.
3. After waiting for 15 minutes it was time to go in, at this point there were about 8 to 10 people seated waiting to enter.
4. I entered the room and I was a bit underwhelmed by the ambiance, I found that it was lacking in the "vibrant smells" that usually linger in spa. For example, lavender, eucalyptus etc.. Overall, my massage was okay.
5. After completing my massage I returned to the entry "boutique" area and asked whether or not I had access to a towel so that I could take a shower, the person stated that they recently had some changes to their policies and so he needed to ask. He came back and said I could use the showers, however, after going in the shower room I realized that you need to have an access code to use the lockers [with a massage you don't have access]. I returned the towel and opted out of using the showers because I had nowhere to place my belongings.
Overall, there are other spas where I have had better experiences, however, I would be willing to try the water therapy and a different type of massage at a different date to determine if this was a one-off experience.

Hello Discover39711233796, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry that your recent visit did not meet your expectations, as that is not the experience we seek to offer.
The thermal experience gives guests access to our baths, saunas, restaurants, and multiple rest areas, and includes a locker with a robe and towel. Massages and body care treatments do not include the thermal experience, but it can be added to your visit at anytime.
We appreciate your feedback as it allows us opportunities to improve the experience for all of our guests. We are sorry that your experience was not as relaxing as anticipated, and we hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again.

Beautiful property.
Checkin experience for a first time visitor was underwhelming, really no orientation to the thermal experience or various aspects of the different options. Just a suggestion to “wander around to orient yourself to the property”. So do your homework before going to make the most of your visit.
Loved the thermal cycle. Saunas & plunge pools were clean and plentiful even during periods when the spa was busy. Try the Aufgaus experience, it’s definitely worth it. Lots of quiet spots to sit and relax.
Towels are plentiful and easy to find when you need a fresh one.
The robes provided seem to be “one size”, beware if you need an extended size they won’t cover you. Robes all look the same and it’s easy to see how people lose items by grabbing the wrong robe.
Massage was great, nature surroundings added to the experience.
Liked the Kala pool, but not sure it was worth the extra cost. The stairs into the water are very difficult to see in the dim light, you literally have to feel out the width of the step to avoid falling.
The food and drinks were extremely overpriced and mini sized. $40 for 2 nonalcoholic drinks with a “sharing plate” of veggies and dip, which was barely enough for one.
The bathrooms were not cleaned often enough, some were dirty, definitely not up to any spa standards.
Not sure I loved the phone policy, not keen on people taking pictures in the spa.
Staff were friendly for the most part, really no outstanding service experienced or observed.
The property is not at all accessible, not appropriate for anyone with mobility challenges.

Hello Compass57253246978, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad you appreciated the thermal experience at Nordik Spa-Nature. We value your feedback as it allows us opportunities to improve the guest experience.
While our standard robe size is a one-size model, we have larger robes available at the lobby that our artisans will be happy to provide upon request. Guest's are welcome to bring their own robes to the spa, in which we hope it will help identifying each guest's robe.
Our restaurants offer a range of food and beverage options to satisfy our diverse clientele. Our kitchen focuses on fresh and locally sourced ingredients to provide dishes of the utmost quality, and to make our guests experience a unique culinary journey.
Your feedback is important to us and we will ensure to share your comments with the rest of our team. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back.

I purchased a Thermal Experience and classic massage for 2 and $50 restaurant voucher from the Nordik Spa in Chelsia QC as a Christmas present for my children and their partners. Now for my children to redeem they they have an extra charge. Is this allowed on a gift card?

Baths are nice but get crowded really quickly, highly recommend going on a weekday morning. I've been here a few times over the years with no complaints but this time, my favourite bathing suit was ruined by the chemicals in the water- it is completely bleached. The staff told me this is "normal" because of the salt water (not sure that salt causes this...)- and another client told me this happened to them as well. I've been to Koena and other spas with the same bathing suit and never had this issue. Don't wear your favourite bathing suit if you come here

Hello E8242OLvalerieh, thank you for your feedback. We agree and suggest weekday mornings are best for those looking for peace and quiet.
We are sorry to hear about what happened to your swimsuit. We recommend that you wear a swimsuit made from a fabric that is resistant to major swimsuit destroyers. The main swimsuit destroyers are chlorine, salt, sweat, sunscreen and UV rays. Your swimsuit will be exposed to most, if not all, of these elements during your visit. By showering your swimsuit before using the facilities, you will help it not absorb as much chlorine and salt as it would if it were dry. Rinsing your swimsuit under a tap of running water immediately after your visit will also prevent sweat, salt and chlorine from having more time to damage the fabric.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back.

It wasn't my first time at the Nordik but this time, I decided to write a review. Everything was spot-on. OK, let's start with the obvious, the spa itself is magnificent (and huge), located on a hill in Chelsea with a view of Ottawa, yet in the heart of nature. We spent 5 hours there and we could easily have spent 2-3 more hours.
What's positive does not end with the spa itself, quite the contrary. The experience is top-class. The service was attentive and efficient everywhere (restaurant, bar, massage, boutique). The food was delicious and the place could not be any cleaner.
With 3 sections (silence, low voice and regular voice), 3 restaurants and a couple of bars, the spa allows you to fit your mood - whatever it is. Well done. The Nordik is not only the biggest spa in North America, its very possibly the best one too.

I’ve been going since they first opened. It used to be a great place to go to relax and recharge. Now, it’s just a party central in bathing suits. People who go are more interested in the perfect Instagram moment. I watched one couple go around the place posing (it was mainly the man having his picture taken - he looked ridiculous to me) and not really enjoying the facilities. It’s all about posting on social media now. The place is always so busy - even mid-week like they keep advising people to go in these responses on their reviews. Not everyone can take time off to go during the week. The price to get in is not feasible and the price for food and drinks is outrageous. The price that is listed on their menu is not the price I was charged - I reviewed my bill when I got it and they charged $2 more for the drinks and almost $10 more than advertised for the tacos. That was my last trip there. It is no longer pleasant, relaxing, nor affordable to go.

Hello Carem9910, thank you for taking the time to leave a review.
We are sorry to hear that your last visit did not meet your expectations. We understand that this time of the week is particularly busy, but we always strive to accommodate our diverse clientele and offer a range of services to suit their needs.
We recommend visiting us on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (excluding holiday periods) as they are usually the quietest days, with fewer guests on-site, and ideal for those seeking more tranquillity.
The prices you see on the invoice include taxes, which will typically bring the total cost up by a few dollars depending on the price of the item.
We are sorry that your visit was not as relaxing as expected, and we assure you that we will follow up with our teams to enforce spa etiquette in each zone, ensuring our guests can get a moment of respite and relaxation at Nordik Spa-Nature. If you wish to discuss this further, please contact us directly at info@lenordik.com.

I recommend attending 'the rituals' in the saunas - I won't tell you any more because you need to experience it for yourself. When in Chelsea, Quebec, Canada...visit Le Nordik Spa-Nature Chelsea. Good check in, friendly and informative. Once we entered the spa area, far too many people, not exactly relaxing. Difficult to get 4 people into one of the saunas together as people lying on the benches, tried several. Ended up spending most of our time in the warm pool when our intention was to experience as much as possible, however due to the number of people allowed into the complex at one time made that challenging.
Now for the payment issues! Having checked my credit card, as an overseas visitor, I cannot understand some of the pending charges on my account. Having called the spa today to ask about them, the person I spoke with became frustrated with me as I was not getting an answer to why I had 3 deposit charges on my card when only paying for me and my partner. I purchased 4 drinks at the bar, bought 4 meals and 2 coffees and I understood where the charges on my account in sterling converted back into Canadian dollars for these purchases. I understood two deposits for entering the facility, however I do not understand a further charge of around $153 and in the end, was far from happy with the attitude of the operator. I will have to dispute this with my card provider in the UK when I return home.
Disappointing and I would advise people check their card payments!

We enjoyed our day though unfortunately I left my new sandals that was a Mother’s Day gift in my locker.
On our way home I realized I was wearing my water sandals and immediately called and emailed the Spa. Was advised they would notify lost and found.
When calling the next day they said they couldn’t find my email or call. So they would send a notification again to lost and found. I told them the sandals were locked in the locker so therefore only an employee would have access to the locker to clean it and prepare it for the next customer. So therefore the sandals had to be found by one of the Spa employees. They answer was sorry we will update and inform lost and found and you will be notified if they are found. Rather than them looking up which employee cleaned and prepared that locker area on that shift day and time. No they didn’t take the time to bother. So unfortunately I still have lost sandals that were a Mothers Day gift.
I am very disappointed that staff would not further look into the situation as they didn’t seem to want to be bothered. And unfortunately I live hrs away to go back same day or day later as I was working. No help by phone or email.
Truly disappointing.

Hi there - I hope you have a nice visit while you’re in town. I pulled an answer from Reddit that should answer your question about Uber. I’m not sure about taxis - you should be able to use a credit card, but I’m not 100% sure on that.
Here is the Reddit response: I've taken an Uber from Kanata to Le Nordik twice before and it was ~$40.
First time I did this I befriended the driver, tipped him well, he gave me his personal number and I texted him when I was ready to get picked up and he came back and I just paid him cash for that ride.
Second time I just called a cab. Took it from there to right across the bridge and I think it was ~$20. Then took an Uber home from there since it was cheaper.
Uber isn't legal in Quebec though so like another Redditor said, text or call the driver to make sure they're okay taking you across the bridge. They might be more likely to take you if you let them know you'll want a ride back later, too.

The number is unique to the masseuse. If it’s not on your receipt, you can call the spa and get your masseuse’s name and RMT (register massage therapist) number.

We are going very soon for our anniversary and my husband has never experienced the Nordik Spa so I would like it to be a wonderful time. I read that there is some construction happening. What parts of the spa are affected? I haven't been for many years having moved away from Ottawa so I am sure there are many more saunas, pools etc. Please let me know as soon as possible.

Hi, I could give you prices- but it may be best for you to check out the spa treatment prices on line as it depends on what you select. Also price for thermal springs should also be online.
Also, there is an automatic food & beverage charge of $150 that they pre- authorize on the credit card- but at the end you will only pay for what you consumed.
Hope this is helpful.

I believe it is the cycle of hot, cold relax. My daughter and I did it several times. Sauna or heat for 15-29 minutes....cold plunge...relax for 15-29. I believe their website explains it. Likewise if you are able to call they will answer any questions you have. Hope that helps!

How does money thing work. A lot of people are saying to super expensive but are you expected to carry around your wallet/cell phone? Do you pay one fee and have your own access to whatever is on the property? Do you have place your name on a list and wait hours to sit in a salt pool or stand in long line waiting for everything.... I am thinking for taking the wife there soon and I hope she enjoys it but, she will not if your always opening the wallet and waiting for everything, not sure how anyone would find that relaxing. Do you plan on spending the day there or is it more of a show up when it opens and leaving at noon thing? Thanks for any info.

I would definitely plan to stay the day. Weekends are often busier . So I would recommend getting there in morning You pay for the day upon arrival, which access you to the entire property.if you are interested in massage or other, you should book ahead those are extra. You get a wrist band that you can load money onto to pay for drinks and food . You are given a locker for your personal items. Your wife will love it.

We are coming there this Saturday, a party of 15, arriving around noon by Limo.
I have read some reviews about long lines to get in. Are we going to be able to get in? We only have a 4 hour window as we have to leave by 4. Any help would be great:)

I would RECOMEND get there as early as possible i.e. at opening so you will not be disappointed because it crowds out fast
