We took the open-top bus tour from Olden to Stryn to see (in the distance) the Briksdal Glacier, living proof of the effects of global warming. The bus doesn't actually get you to the glacier - you have to take a boat trip for that....More

Excellent experience! Walking was light to medium. Little bit windy. Worth the effort. Maybe a little bit to much touristified. A spot you really have to see if you are in the area.

We choose to hike from the parking spot and it took about an hour to reach the glacier. The whole hike gives you the opportunity to see experience amazing pictures that is difficult to forget. Reaching the glacier makes it even more exciting and beautiful....More

We travelled by cruise ship to Olden and took a half day excursion to the glacier on the recommendation of a friend. I didn't really know what to expect on this trip. I had read the glacier had been in retreat for some time due...More

We had a wonderful time visiting the Briksdal Glacier. The Briksdal Glacier has been hit hard by global warming, but the 40 minute bus ride there is quite scenic and lovely, as is the hike itself to the glacier so overall this excursion is a...More

Its a 1hr walk from the visitor center. Some steep parts up steps and paths. There are Troll cars which will take you close to the foot of the Glacier for an extra cost. You would still have a short 5min walk to the foot...More

This is one of my favourite glaciers! Such a beautiful and mystical thing to see up close. The hike has a few moments of difficulty and can be a bit slippy in places but all fitness levels should be able to do this no problem....More

Hi Corrine. We didn't check as we walked up. You can book online separately or as an extra for an excursion if you are cruising. The only reference to the price I was able to find was from a review from 2013 which said it... More

it is very easy: Across the street from the cruise terminal there is a public bus leaving to the Glacier. Tickets can be bought at the office directly at the Terminal.
