We visited the museum two years ago and found it very interesting and quite fascinating from the perspective of the history of the Port of Dover as one of the main fishing ports on the Great Lakes. The history of the fishermen and the industries linked to the Lake was well done. An educational experience for anyone wishing to learn... More

Spent a couple days wandering around the Lake Erie coastline in Ontario. Port Dover was a favorite stop! Stopped by the tourist center to pick up information on the area. The gal there recommended stopping by the free museum (donations appreciated). It was a crowded sunny summer day but we were able to park out front. Really enjoyed exploring the... More

The museum was nice and cool on a hot day, you pay what you can and it is a self guided tour, we found a few interesting stories of the harbour,

After walking around the little town we had a nice visit at the museum. Enjoyed looking at the artifacts and learning some history, took some pictures while playing with the ship equipment.

If you get a chance make sure you put aside some time to visit this place. You will see the history of this old town come to life. Especially interesting if you like Lake Erie history. And of course ships.

What a great place to learn about Port Dover of the past. Lots of history in a small place. Great museum on ships of the past and armed forces personnel. Located behind Tim Hortons. Also has folk music on certain days. Take time to see it all.
