Best £2.50 I've spent in a long while.
Jul. 2021
A really lovely spot with some delightful walks around the grounds. Also, a very good cafe and an excellent pottery shop and gift shop. Just £2.50 in the pay and display carpark - very godo value indeed.

Really lovely place to go for a secluded walk
Jun. 2021 • Couples
A beautiful place for a walk in lovely surroundings. Gorgeous gardens with secluded walks and a lovely lake with swans and other wild birds. A nice cafe and visitor centre with high quality craft shops make a nice addition to the pleasure of walking the delightful gardens. Highly recommended for a quiet, peaceful day out.

Disappointing
May 2021
Gates open but (almost) no one at home!

Noticed the signage en route to Bamburgh thus called in on the return journey. Several craft shops however all but the pottery closed, very disappointing. Luckily we hadn't wasted money on the parking machine before we checked what the place was about; which wasn't much on a Tuesday alas. My mother in law was up for a pootle round some craft shops, a coffee and nice bit of cake but can't walk far hence checking it out before she heaved herself out of the car unnecessarily.

Fantastic walking
Oct. 2020 • Family
I can’t count how many times I’ve been here with my family and friends, but it must now be in the hundreds. This beautiful estate contains several interesting walks with lovely scenery at all times of the year. It’s a great place to take a young child on a bike or older children on a few miles walk. There are many routes to choose from and it is easy to combine them to make a longer walk. The converted stable block has some interesting mini museums and little shops selling glassware, jewellery, pottery and other crafts. The cafe is nice for a tea and scone. I have taken so many beautiful photos here over many years and many seasons. I would recommend that you park (for free!) just off the A697 about 1.5 miles north of Coldstream for an alternative entrance into the grounds, however beware as it can be muddy at times.

A Lovely Walk and Good Crafts
Sep. 2020
We spent a morning touring the grounds that were well kept and beautiful. Car parking was £3 but no other charges required. We had coffee in the cafe and viewed the craft shops which were of a high standard. we bought some pottery to take home. All in all, much to be recommended.

Disappointing
Sep. 2020 • Couples
It was a dreary day so decided to walk round the estate - had to pay to park ( cash only) and footpaths closed for various reasons - dangerous/ tree felling/ wired over with barbed wire - no explanation and no alternative route offered. Ended up walking for nearly 2 hrs which is fine with us but not for many people. The tea rooms didn’t get good reviews and we agree cold weak coffee and miserable looking cakes. What a shame we had such high expectations.

Ok

This is alright. The walk we had was great but the teased me because we couldn’t see the lake anywhere we went. Enjoyed catching mini fish at the end too.
