The most beautifully colored fish swim right through you, the coral is so many different colors it’s hard to describe. My snorkel guide named Dylan knew everything about the waters. HE WAS THE BEST! If you travel on a cruise make this an all day affair as we did this last and I didn’t have as much time as I would have wanted! Plan this 1st, you won’t be disappointed! - Amanda CLancaster, Pennsylvania6 contributionsGorgeous Beach!Gorgeous Beach! We did the Guambalimba Preserve then this beach excursion and it was a wonderful day! Would definitely recommend this excursion. The lunch was fairly simple but good: bbq chicken, burgers, dogs, ice tea and lemonade. The bar service was reasonable and friendly. The beach front is public so there were some locals trying to peddle their goods but they were very good about staying on the water side of the rope. There was security and bar tenders wandering around. I felt safe keeping belongings on my beach chair.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten February 20, 2024
- RobininABQ183 contributionsTabyana Beach is Perfect!LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. So nice and rustic, not a fancy beach club. No pool, just gorgeous turquoise ocean in front of you to enjoy. Waitstaff is excellent and food was very good and not expensive. We did the tour from our cruise ship. Take your snorkel gear as they have a beautiful reef just steps out into the water. There are also Guides who work for tips to take you out there if you want. There are Vendors on the beach but they are just trying to make a living. A smile and no thankyou is all you need. Don't be offended, its their livelihood.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten March 7, 2024

Highly recommend to anybody with a family, as well as the beach itself being very nice. Great area of Roatan.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten August 19, 2024

We came here on an excursion from the Celebrity Apex cruise. The beach area was a great place to walk, swim, and buy local pottery. We saw colorful fish and the water was nice and the beach clean and safe. Though there were the typical vendors walking the beach, we were in a controlled roped area with our own security person to watch our belongings.
We had a tasty lunch and then browsed the local store Las Almendras. The manager of the store was incredibly nice and very helpful. We purchased ceramic pottery made by the local Lenca indigenous people and a beautiful 100% rayon wrap. The manager also gave us souvenirs as a thank you.

We have been on many cruises, this excursion was the best we have ever been on. We were on the Celebrity Edge, the resort was a 25 minute scenic bus ride from the pier. The beach was beyond beautiful, crystal clear turquoise water and soft powdery white sand. Plenty of shade, comfortable reclining chairs. There was a security officer watching our belongings the whole time. Beach vendors were prohibited from bothering you on the property. The best feature was the excellent snorkeling from the beach. The employees would guide you with a floating ring and point out all of the beautiful fish and coral reef. The buffet lunch was delicious. Drinks were great, and there was excellent service, drinks were brought to us by friendly staff. A fantastic, fun day. Well worth the price!

Every time I cruise to Honduras I book an excursion to Tabyana Beach. As soon as you step out you are welcomed by palm trees, soft sand, and live Caribbean music being played. The staff is always very attentive and friendly. They have security that watches your things and keeps the vendors back while you enjoy your time in the water. The vendors can be a little pushy when you walk past but I just politely say no thank you and continue on my way. One of the largest coral reefs in the world is here in the West Bay and I have seen many colorful fish swimming about without even snorkeling. Definitely recommend coming to Tabyana.

This is the best spot in West Bay for view and snorkeling. It's at the quieter end of the bay with an unhindered view. Less people , less noise. There is a clear path directly In front of you for snorkeling to the incredible reef. Many activities offered nearby for very low cost. 10$ a day for snorkel equipment. Beach chairs all day for 10$ and they have security that watches your stuff. Chairs have options of shade or sun. Very safe to leave items and go for a walk , snorkeling etc. There is also a restaurant that offers food and beverages on site, only downfall is it's only open Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Water is a gorgeous turquoise color and warm. Highly recommend.

We come to Tabyana beach every time we visit Roatan. The beach is beautiful and the snorkeling is amazing . The only downfall is the constant vendors. Also, the last time we visited our waitress overcharged us. She verbally gave us the amount we owed without a receipt. When I asked for the itemized receipt, the amount she told us verbally was $40 higher than what was on the receipt.

This is a very long and narrow beach which spans a lot of different resorts. You can chose to rent chairs and umbrellas or simply sit on the sand. We chose to simply lay out in the sand. The best place for the snorkeling is at the far end of the beach the reef is very close to the surface there, so close that you need to be careful not to get scraped on them. The reef is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately for us it rained off and on all day but we still had a great time. There are a lot of people walking around always trying to sell you something most are fine some are very pushy.

We did this as an excursion from Norwegian Cruise but have done this once before. This is the most beautiful beach ever. Plenty of lounge chairs in and out of the sun. This beach also has the best snorkeling with a barrier reef very close to the beach. I was getting ready to snorkel by myself but I don’t like to go out very far by myself. As I was standing there a young gentleman named Tito came over with a life ring and he said he could take me out to the first wall which was 25 foot drop. I did not want to go that far kinda of scared me. He has you hold on to the ring and he pulls you all around. He showed me all different kinds of fish and told me what they were. He doesn’t charge anything but a tip is appreciated. The best experience ever. After I wish I would of went farther because other people said they saw turtles and barricudia. A buffet lunch was also included which was very good. They have security guards there to watch your belongings. Area is very safe. Ask for Tito if you want a snorkel tour. Awesome day and the waters warm. Will return whenever I’m in Honduras

We took the Tabyana Beach Break excursion through Royal Caribbean. It was a very well run excursion. They greeted us in Zone 4 and then escorted us to an air conditioned bus. It was about a 25 minute bus ride to the beach; roads were paved and while I typically experience motion sickness, this ride wasn’t too bad- I didn’t even need Bonine. It was slightly windy and steep. The ride is so worth it because THE BEACH IS AMAZING. Softest, whitest sand. Waters were so calm and clear. Lots of great snorkeling right off beach with lots of fish. Staff is great there. They have someone there to watch over your belongings. Yes, there are people there selling stuff but just say no thank you. I didn’t have the lunch but it was hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. Return shuttle service started at 1:30 and ran every half hour. We loved it. I was told that there were only about 100 people there today-they told us tomorrow they were expecting 800 people 😳.

We went on the Norwegian cruise line excursion Tabyana Beach Club. The scenery was amazing! The water crystal clear and blue! Richard was at the snorkel renting table by the beach and offered to take us out to the reef for a tip! He was great! He picked up a sea urchin and placed it in our hands. He did a great job of showing us the phenomenal sites of the reef! We’ve never seen anything like it before! We were able to see all the way to the ocean floor that was about 75-100 feet down! We saw a spotted stingray that was about 5 feet across! The food at the resort was lacking but the beach and water made up for it!! We will definitely be back!!

We came here for a beach day on a Royal Caribbean cruise excursion and were extremely pleased with it.
They have a very nice beach, and the snorkeling was great. There were lots of lounge chairs both in and out of the sun.
The buffet lunch was good and there is a bar serving beer and cocktails.
The service was great as well (kudos to Yolanda), and the entire property is located in a beautiful safe setting.
We highly recommend it

No but we arrived via an excursion for Viking and lunch was also included. The beach is very shallow and the drop off in the water is pretty deep. There are many vendors trying to sell you services(massages, etc) & teeshirts, other clothing items. They cannot bother you in the seating area but as soon as you head towards the water, they are in your face.

So I’m looking at the excursions in Mahogany Bay (Honduras) and I was wondering if we could just get a taxi to Tabyana Beach instead of buying the excursion from a cruise ship ? I figured we could buy beach chairs and drinks once we got to Tabyana. Thoughts please and thank you.

Can kids under 12 rent snorkel gear? (Almost 11yo) Are there guided tours they can participate in as well?
Written March 9, 2022

Is this place “pay as you go” or all inclusive? What are the prices and what is included? The website does not list it.
Is the only way to book this day pass is via cruise line?
Written February 21, 2020
Ours was through NCL and it included lunch with lemonade or iced tea. You also got chairs in sun or shade. The water is beautiful and the snorkeling amazing. They have drinks for purchase at a reasonable price. I put a picture of the drink menu on my review

hi, can we go without a cruise excursion at this beach.....if yes what is the fee,,,,thanks
Written February 3, 2020
We went through a cruise excursion, so I don’t know. That being said it seemed like a large well organized experience tailored for visitors, so I would be surprised if you can’t go without a cruise excursion. I would contact them directly. I found their website by Googling Tabyana beach Roatan Honduras. I couldn’t post the link here.

Will be there on a Carnival cruise this month do they offer paddleboarding? Do I need to get transportation from the port to get there?
Do they offer food on-site what else is it to do other than sitting on the beach?
Written November 10, 2019
Yes they offer paddle boarding and other attractions.
We booked the Tabayana Beach excursion thru carnival as it is a 45 minute ride each way from port.
Food and beverage is available however the food is not to great but the snorkeling and beauty of the beach more than makes up for the lack luster food.
