West Bay is what many consider the picture-perfect Caribbean destination: white sand, clear, calm waters and full service resorts. The variety of water activities include scuba diving, fishing charters, snorkeling and parasailing. Scuba diving and other outfitters leave directly from the beach so starting your water-based activities is easy and convenient.

The best beach in Roatan. No shoes needed. Snorkeling is great, lots of dive shops and shopping. Stop by Karma Roatan, Beautiful jewelry, hand made one of a kind pieces and reasonably priced.

Several resorts along this stretch of beach with a few dive shops and restaurants. Very busy waterfront as boats and swimmers jockey for space. Catch a water taxi to the West End ($3 US per person). This is fine for a short stop but not...More

One of the top beaches in the world. The snorkelling and diving are world class. The water is the typical Caribbean clear and warm.

3rd time to West Bay and it has always been our favorite for beautiful turquoise waters and white sands. We did a "Zip n Dip" tour through South Shore Zip Line so the beach access was through them and didn't have to get a separate...More

This is a very nice little beach, 4 trips walking from end to end is about 5 kms. Walking early in the morning was always best. The thing that I disliked was that there were all these boats parked just off the beach every day,...More

White sand, clear turquoise water, West Bay beach is very good for swimming and snorkeling. Maybe a bit too many boats close to shore though.

There is no water ferry. You have to get a taxi. Negotiate the fare - they charge per vehicle - so pack it up. They can run from $20 to $40 round trip. There is a water taxi between West End and West Bay.
