Make sure you come closer to low tide, and preferably not on Sunday, when it's a picnic ground for families with kids who fill the water. Probably not for beginner snorkelers unless you have a lifejacket.

This is a free marine park not far from Holetown. Nice beach and very quiet , hardly any tourists. A Few locals Great place to snorkel , lots of fish and clear blue seas and we chilled here for a few hours. No refreshments so you'll have to take your own. A great little find though.

Free parking, free entry, nice beach. It's a protected area, and we were therefore surprised that there weren't large numbers of fish when we snorkelled - there was a good variety, but not that many of them. Still pretty nice, though.

There are more great beaches in Barbados than one can imagine, but we like Folkestone because depending on the tide you can be in the shade and still on the sand. Great snorkelling also, waves and current strong enough may not be suitable for small children in some parts, great for teens. A hut that serves beer, very civilized!

We took the bus from the south side of the island ($8 American for two of us round-trip vs. $70 r/t for a cab), which worked fine. The beach and picnic areas were busy with families enjoying picnics...lots of cute, happy children around. The park is very basic and even more so on a Sunday, I guess--the information office with... On the day we went snorkelling there were lots of youngsters kissing and cuddling in the area - a multi purpose attraction? There was some wind about so you had to be careful getting in and out of the rock areas with the waves. Did see some sea life but expected to see more as it is a protected reef.... More

This is a lovely beach, with great snorkeling & lots of fish to see on the protected reef, where you can snorkel safely away from speedboats & jetski's. Facilities, include washrooms, lockers & snorkel hire. Also a short walk away are drinks & food vendors.

Easy access and good car parking. Beach for the kids and waterfront path from Holetown round to Coral Reef. A much improved area. The coral reef isn't in great condition but when sea is calmer good snorkelling and enough fish to amuse you. It's also secure from rogue jet ski who buzz the shoreline.

A bit windy during our stay, so not best conditions for snorkelling. Didn't see any live coral. Free though with basic wc & shower, also souvenir shop selling t-shirts etc.

Please don't touch the reef. There is some reef that is still alive but most of the reef nearest the shore is dead - probably from people touching it. If you swim out you can see an abundance of marine plants and fish.
