John Constable painted a few pictures from this one spot, not just The Hay Wain. I really recommend a visit to explore, see the site of The Hay Wain and maybe enjoy a coffee and cake in the cafe by the river

The beautiful English countryside on a sunny, early Autumn, morning what could be better to uplift ones spirits? No wonder John Constable found such inspiration here, at Flatford Mill, for his paintings. Owned by The National Trust it is one of the few places where...More

It's not often that somewhere lives up to expectations but this is certainly one of them! Obviously the connection with John Constable goes without saying. You can sit at the Mill and look across the water to Willy Lotts house and you can see the...More

Unfortunately we don't have dogs any more but I do remember lots of people walking dogs. There is an outside eating area but I don't think they were waiting on tables. You had to queue up, for dog years

I would go to Dedham. It is a lovely walk along the river to Flatford. You just need to walk out of the town a little. Stroll along the path beside the river and you will get to the mill. Good luck and have a wonderful day!
