In Poland visiting Shoah/Holocaust sites. If you know nothing or only a little about this then my advice is to go with an organised guided tour. Otherwise you will simply not understand what you are looking at. For those who have some knowledge the easiest...More

This was our second trip to Warsaw and this stay was intended to visit and pay our respects to the victims murdered at Treblinka Extermination Camp. We used AB Poland Tours to get from Warsaw to Treblinka and this was the best way to visit;...More

We came to poland to specifically visit the holocaust memorials. Treblinka was a truely humbling experience. After visting auschwitz and birkenhau last year this was a totally different experience. As the buildings no longer remain on the site its very much about using your own...More

This is a site that is difficult to find as the indications are sparse and it is off a small road. As well, time has had its effect on it as all the constructions are gone from the site. The impact, once you reach this...More

There really isn't anything left of the death camp except a monument and lots of stones with names of people who were exterminated here in 1942-43. It's hard to imagine what happened here but It's good that there is a monument to help us hope...More

The Treblinka memorial is beautifully designed and the sense of all the evil that happened there is palpable. Ironically the forested site is quite beautiful, which makes the jagged stones of the memorial even more stark and ugly by comparison. The museum is small and...More

A visit to Treblinka will bring all kinds of emotions, we had a guide and it is the best way to get round it. What stands out about this place is the scale of destruction caused by the Nazi animals. Around 850,000 people were murdered...More

Unlike Auschwitz this Extermination and Labour Camp was destroyed to hide the atrocities that took place there. It is a very moving place and had a profound effect on my husband and a friend who was with us. The museum provides a good introduction and...More

Even the walk to the Treblinka memorial is ghostly. You follow the path that the real railway line once took to the death camp, walking through a forest of tall, densely packed trees that cut off all sounds from outside, so that you cannot help...More

I was there and i got there by renting a car in Warsaw. It takes about an hour to get there, and I am not sure that a guide is necessary. If you have Waze on your phone or a good GPS, you will find the place. The site is... More

The site is open all the time and is possible to visit without going to the museum. The museum is interesting and does set the scene so to speak.
