It's called the firs stone-made church in Romania so it's a must see attraction when visiting Hateg county. I had a strong and strange feeling entering this beautiful church.

Although it is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the origin of the church is enveloped by mystery. It seems to date back to the pre-Christian era, being the only place in Romania where religious services have been held since its inception.

A very old church. It's small and made of stone in the III-rd century. Not in the best state but definitely worth seeing. Easily accessible.

This unique church combines several architecture types to join remnants of an old Roman colony with the early Christian paintings of the 8th century AD. You must see it!
