The walk up to the citadel from the base of the hill (with free parking) is surprisingly easy and short (took maybe 10-15 minutes). The citadel itself has some great views and is cool to explore. It was a little busy, but not overcrowded like...More

The fortress is beautiful, not very well maintained ... it can see garbage areas. Surrounding are cheap and low-quality souvenir stalls. The view above is spectacular, so it's worth to visiting.

It's worth a visit for the great views of the surrounding area. The citadel itself is nothing spectacular. There were lots of stalls selling souvenirs. You can pay to get driven up the hill from the car park if you don't fancy the walk.

This was part of our Bran Castle day tour. Rasnov now has a Hollywood-style sign on the mountain-side which supposedly has greatly increased the number of visitors. You can get up to the citadel either on foot, via tractor pull, or via the lift. Lift...More

A lot less crowded than Bran castle, but also an impressive building/ mini village. Not so tourist-like and still a little bit rough. A lot of tourist shops though...

This is worth visiting when in Brasov. Take local train from Gara Brasov to Rasnov/ Rosenau and walk to the castle. Can be combined with a visit to the Dino-parc and caves.

We went up to the citadel to see Rasnov from above. I love citadels, and it has been restored very nicely. The view of the city is very nice. However, the shops inside are a tourist trap and do not fit with the setting. They...More
