We took a large group of teens on the El Trapiche Tour - and had a marvelous time. The guides were entertaining, educational and engaging. We especially loved the "hands on" activities.

It is a familiy owned business. Even il we were only 4 touring, family members were present at different moment of our tour: the ride with gentle cows and sugar cane process. Our guide was Oscar the cousin. Many thanks to him. He was very knowledgeable and interesting. We througly enjoy it.

The tour involves a coffee and sugarcane plantation, as well as chocolate, although they don't yet have enough cacao plants to produce chocolate commercially. Tour guide spoke English very well and was very funny. The kids loved it, especially making the sugarcane candy at the end. It's a family-run plantation, which is why we chose it over the other tours.

One of the fondest memories of our trip. Very hands-on, lots of "tasting" of sugar cane, chocolate, coffee, nice walk, our guide was charming and enthusiastic and VERY good with the kids. Everyone from our group enjoyed it and would highly recommend.

Call us crazy, but we (2 adults, 2 kids) did two "coffee tours" in Monteverde...and enjoyed them both, but for different reasons. El Trapiche is a slick operation (not meant in a negative sense), with multiple and larger tours running simultaneously and extremely well trained guides. You get to see and hear about sugar cane, coffee and chocolate growing and... More

As I have read from a couple other reviews, the 32$ might not be too cheap but we had a really good tour today. Oscar, our guide, was very knowledgeable and explained every process of the coffee, chocolate and sugar making process to us. We got to taste really a lot of things like beans, chocolate, coffee, sugar cane, juice,... More

We loved the tour. The ride on he oxen pulled cart, the sugar cane to eat and making the chocolate were all fabulous. We truly enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend the tour. To top it off you get to meet up at the owners and have coffee and juice from the farm. Worth the money ++.
