Our guide was able to give us lots of information about the animals and plants, and was able to spot things we never would have seen. We saw loads of insects we had never seen before, as well as caterpillars, grasshoppers, spiders and stick insects. The highlight was seeing a sloth, a snake, beautiful birds sleeping in the branches and... More

This has nothing to do with what wildlife we saw. This was the quality of the tour guide and the fact that the company new we had a bad tour compared to others and refused to compensate in anyway. We saw tons of other guides giving tours while we walked gathering their groups and explain the nature. (Also realize how... More

This night walk is a must do with kids. My kids are aged 12 and 10 and they loved it since they saw 2 sloths (yeah!!), a scorpion, a snake, a tarantula, a sleeping toucan, a highway of ants and other insects that you would never have seen since they blend in the forest. The pick up at the hotel... More

WOW!! Loved this tour so much! I thought it was expensive at first but once we did it thought it was worth every penny. We had such a great guide who not only was able to show us two sloths which I will get to but able to explain about the types of trees, insects and other animals that we... More

I would highly recommend a night walk tour. Our guide was very informative and did his best to show us as much wildlife as possible. We ended up seeing 3 sloths including a mama with its baby, many snakes, bugs, frogs, and birds. He also showed us this really cool fungus that glowed in the dark.

When my husband and i were thinking of doing a night walk, there were about 10 different companies offering one. We asked the lady at the front desk of our hotel and after telling her I wanted to see a sloth, she sent us to Santa Maria. I will say that other reviewers are right that the flashlights they give... we had a very knowledgable guide who explained much about the forest and it's night activity. we saw many animals that don't come out at night incl. sloths, racoons and other similars, tarantula, scorpions, snake, sleeping birds, all in a setting of beautiful forest sounds. there were not too many people in the park, so it was very personal.

This was our activity for our first night at Monteverde. We booked it through our hostel. The pickup and dropoff was from our hostel. The venue for the treck was only a short drive drive from the hostel. It does not take place in the cloud forest but in transitional forest lower down. We went on the 5.30 tour just... More

We did the Night Walk Santamaria's the first night we were staying in Monteverde. It was a fun opportunity to see the cloud forest and its inhabitants in the dark as many creatures are more active at night. We were picked up at our hotel and shuttled a short ways to the property. After paying, we met up with our... More

We did the night tour. We are here during high season and it felt like they crammed a lot of people into the reserve. Our group had 8 people for one guide which felt too large -- it was difficult to hear what the guide was saying. There were like 10 other group tromping around the same small area. Too... More
