One of the most beautiful places I have been to. The country side is super special, quiet, one feels that you could stand and look at the view for a month. Ultra small church with interesting history. Did God come to earth in a space rocket? I don't think so, it is the way some old saint painted a picture... More

The church is little pretty building with colorful garden. Inside you see the the century-old frescos of Jesus in a "rocket" and Jesus in a "capsule".

Nothing special with this place! A small village church with nothing to do around it! There is some crazy idea with the space-shuttle Chris, which actually bring tourists! According to me it is just a way to depict the creator! But I would say that the most annoying was the preaching lady, that you have no choice but to listen... More

We found the pretty village of Dobarsko by accident, just driving in the mountain from Bansko, following small roads in the middle of breathtaking landscape. At the end of the road was this small village and we noticed many people in front of a gate so we parked and went to see if there was something of interest, that's how... More

This tiny church is an absolute gem. Now deconsecrated as a museum it stood empty and ignored for decades before someone removed the soot from the frescos. The guide speaks no English so it helps to have your own translator. All the frescos are un-retouched and original. The gardens in which the church is set are quite beautifu!l.

While in Bansko, don't hesitate to visit this church just some 20 km away from our famous ski-resort. It's located in the village Dobarsko in the bosom of Rila mountain. Officially, the church is known to have been built in 1614, although some recent researchers claim it was built in 1211. It's dedicated to two saints - St. Theodor Tyron... More

If you are around this area, don't miss this small church. The walls are completely covered with ancient and well-preserved frescos. Although not very visited, it nearly can stand alongside the more popular churches in Arbanassi. But don't count with having much to eat in the village: we coudn't find any restaurant in the center of the village (and we... More
