We were staying in Notre-Dame-des-Bois (about 30 minutes driving from Baie-des-Sables) and we decided we'd go and see what we could do there. We parked and we saw a place where we could rent kayaks for about 15$ an hour. We gave it a shot and we loved the lake! There wasn't too many boats for a Saturday afternoon. One of the two kayaks was broken and didn't have a seat so the clerk just gave my husband a life jacket so it wasn't too hard on his back. There were other kayaks available so I don't understand why he didn't give him one that wasn't broken. Other than that, we had lots of fun!

Excellent camp site with many private areas. Fantastic bike or walking path for exercise. Long drive from MTL but we enjoyed it very much.

Spent two glorious days of late season camping at Baie-des-Sables...Loved it! Being off-season we were alone in our section! Great camp sites through out-washrooms were clean and very functional. Short walk down to the lake which still had boat rentals available. Sat out on the deck of the restaurant located overlooking the beach catching the last of the September sun and enjoying refreshments. Went for a bike ride on the 7 km rock dust trail that goes into town where you can hook onto other trails or shop! Several small hiking trails loop their way around the campground and surrounding area-longest trail is 4.5km. In two days we had lots to do right around the campground without even going to the Provincial park located about 40 minutes away.
