Take a Ride at the Windsong Ranch
We were looking for a nice trail, ride out in the country with a variety of scenery and found this place was perfect. We would highly recommend it to those looking to learn about horses and the best way to interact with them. Gordy and Heather spend a lot of time introducing you to the nature of horses and how sensitive they can be… What we thought was going to be a short trail ride turned out to be a 2 1/2 hour memorable experience.

    Wonderful Afternoon at Windsong
This was a great experience. I have been saying that I wanted to go riding for the last few years but haven’t been able to find anything when we were away for our annual summer camping. I found Windsong online and the website looked very promising. Heather returned my call quickly and when I said I hadn’t ridden in years she assured me that I would be matched with a horse that would be suited for my skill level. When my husband and I arrived we were greeted warmly. Gordie asked us to tell him a bit about ourselves and asked what our experience had been. (Our group had 5 people). He disappeared into the barn for bit and then brought us all in to introduce us to the horses he selected for us. There was some time spent teaching us about horses and their behaviours and some instruction on how we should behave around them. We each led our horse to the arena where we practiced walking them and then riding them. Each of us was observed with our horse before we left the barn. Gordie led us out and through the trails. It was a beautiful ride on a beautiful day. These horses are not follow the leader robots. They responded to us and followed our leads when we directed them. Gordie gently gave further instruction as needed in the trail and was a great tour guide. I would love to head back to Windsong when we are in the area again. It was very clear the Gordie and Heather do this because they love it and that the horses are very well cared for.

    Absolutely stunning horse back ride
You can sure tell Gordie and Heather love what they do. It is with great passion that they take you in and get you safety on a horse and on the trail for a breathtaking ride. I would give them more than 5 stars if I were able. Such an incredible experience. Especially the rainbow at the end of the ride. Extraordinary!!!

Windsong Ranch offers the best trail-ride format ever. You spend time getting to know your horse on the ground and ride in an arena over pretend trail obstacles (like a bridge) before you head out on the trail.

Trails are on the Windsong Ranch property, with a variety of terrain: trees, open fields, gentle hills, and a stunning view of the surrounding area from above the ranch.

Groups are small (we were five people with a lead and follow horse). While I went on my own, I was put together with riders of similar ability. You spend 2 hours with your horse. Allow a little extra time to get fitted up if you need boots and a helmet.

I was blessed with a great day, a nice group of riders, and a sweet horse.

Windsong is the ultimate trail ride experience and I highly recommend it! The horses are gorgeous which you don't see often at general trail riding farms. I've ridden lots of trail ride excursions at other places all over Ontario and Windsong is a refreshing approach and memorable experience. The instructors actually match the horse's personality with your personality and teach a riding lesson about communicating with your horse and safety. The trails are interesting with a mix of water, land and woods. The instructors are confident when they match you and your horse with a lesson in riding enough to allow you the flexibility to actually ride instead of locking you into a tight straight line like most riding places do. If you're a beginner or experienced rider revisiting the joy of horse back riding, this is the place to be!

Amazing experience, very knowledgeable family we learned a lot. We went for our daughter’s 8th birthday and our family of 4 all participated. Normally it was supposed to be an outdoor trail however the continued rain made the trails too muddy. Fortunately they were able to let us ride in their arena. Overall I think the arena made the experience more amazing because it helped us connect with the horse and really understand how they think, move and their mannerisms. I feel this made us all more comfortable to go out on a trail when the time comes. I have ridden horses in the past, most of the time you jump on and follow the leader with no lessons and no information this was such a better experience. Monty is as stubborn as me but by the end we bonded.

We had the most wonderful experience! Thank you Gord and Heather for a memorable experience! I was lucky enough to ride on Nugget during our two-hour trail ride, she was amazing. I will most definitely be back next year for another ride.
