Lovely walk around the area I must say. I felt like I was away in another country so much some beauties have been hidden from me for ages.

Had a lovely time watching the locks being manoeuvred open and shut to let some holidaying motorboats through. Meanwhile ate a picnic lunch in their picnic area .

On our way by boat to Montreal with very few marinas in this area We heard this was a cute town so we tied up to the canal wall. We travel with a service dog who is a seizure alert dog. The first thing we see is a” no dog” sign. The first restaurant we tried refused us service which is against Canadian law. The second tried to refuse us and when we insisted, we were put in a corner with puddles on the floor so the dog couldn’t even sit down.

Then the awful music started and went on until 11:00 at which time the other boats turned on their music. This isn’t a cute little town - it’s like being in a college party town. Glad to leave.

A fun place to go near the city, yet not the city. If you are a tourist in Montreal, a great "day" trip out of the city.
You can take the city buses there all on one fare. Many dining choices some with patios on the water. Nice boardwalk too. An old lock and canal there managed by Parks Canada. Try Peter's seafood restaurant, with patio. A few ice cream places too. Waterfront parks not far from there too. Don't miss Daoust, a century old small department store which sells clothes and homewares.

This is a nice location to drive by any time , there is a boardwalk, boats in the canal / lake / river , people watching , you can have lunch or supper or an ice cream ( so many places to choose from ) .
Just a fun place to be when you want to go somewhere different. And many parking areas too .

It's such a romantic place to be and stroll at any time of day.
Got to see a beautiful sunset last night after having gone to the wonderful restaurant of Olé Tapas.

Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is about a 30 min drive from downtown Montreal. It's the water where you can see a lot of docked boats as well as boats navigating the waters. The main street is full of restaurants and little shops. The area is always packed during the summer time but it's still a great place to visit, take a stroll on the main street and an ice cream.

The quality of the food is very subpar, It's almost inedible and the kitchen is gross, the cook puts the food with hand no use of gloves
