Amazing pebble beach! Clean, quiet, crystal clear water, romantic. Two restaurants - one has the same owner as Bib Gourmand restaurant Mate in central Pupnat. Both the restaurant and the beach club are well worth a visit. Sun loungers plus umbrella are 20 euros and parking 6 euros.

We did a wine tasting with our group from our ship on a night of torrential rains. I wish I could have enjoyed the surroundings and outdoor area because it looked lovely, but wasn't meant to be with the weather. They accommodated our large, wet group and we had a fabulous night. Wonderful olive oil, meats, cheeses and an array of wines. The setting was cozy and friendly and the servings of wine and food were generous. All in all, it was a lovely evening despite the rain.

It was a short stop during our boat trip - however, it was amazing experience, especially if you are an animal lover.
For day stay, please note that sunbeds are 6 €, there is quite some crowd and not a large choice of food and drinks.

The detailed Romanesque portal by Bonino of Milano depicting Adam and Eve on either side and St. Mark perched at the top.

Inside the cathedral it was very detailed (WOW have we viewed a lot of the insides of churches in our travels). I love the architecture of churches as they reflect the passion of those that are looking for that quest of “everlasting life” (do not want to relate / accept that everything STOPS at death).

What shocked me the most was the Cathedral had 9 different altars, and not that much of a seating inventory.
The 16th-century painting by Tintoretto above the main altar was very impressive.

This church also has a sketch by Da Vinci, drawings by Raphael, and paintings by Italian masters (no pictures allowed of that one).

Went into the small All Saints’ Church and noted all the crypt slabs covering the floor. Turns out the rich & influential were buried beneath the floor of the church (following a donation $$), so pensioners can read their names as the masses walk over their graves (the more money you donate, the closer to the alter or entrance = gets you planted there). Wonder if they realized their graves will most likely be opened in about another 300 years or so by grave robber archeologist to see how many teeth the deceased had.

Before arriving on Korcula, everyone we talked to said how lovely the town and the island was and boy were they right. We spent five days there based in Korcula’s old town and could easily have done twice as long - we’re already planning our return in fact. The town itself still holds a great deal of medieval charm despite the inevitable commercialisation and the rest of the island is simply beautiful with lots of small coves and plenty of swimming opportunities. It’s also a great base from which to take a water taxi to many of the neighbouring islands.

I just wanted to take the water taxi to the center of Korcula Island. I walked to the ferry dock from Old Town and then asked if the water taxi would take me to Lumbarda. They told me the fare and time to leave and I purchased a round trip ticket. The boat left on time and stopped at 2 islands to drop off and pickup people and then stopped at Lumbarda reminding us when the last boat left to return back to Korcula Old Town.

Once I arrived in Lumbarda, I then walked to 2 wineries (Vitus and Popic) to wine taste, met people along the way and at the wineries, and walked back down the path to the dock where the water taxi took me back to Old Town. It was a lovely way to travel versus taking the motor taxi and a great afternoon.

It was raining, so we stopped in the museum and were pleasantly surprised. Nice exhibits and information of the history of this island. It was worth our stop.

I don’t like to spend too much time shopping when I’m on vacation - and yet I always want to bring home something special as a reminder of my trip. This shop makes that easy! There’s a lovely collection of art, ceramics, jewelry and more by local artists. I fell in love with a beautiful large ceramic plate that would have been challenging to get home. I “settled” for some stunning handmade earrings instead.

Revelin Tower is one of the towers located on the wall of the Old town in Korcula, the main city of the homonymous island. In fact, it is one of th most important gates and I am sure, you can see, when you walk around of old town. It is located at the top of a staircase, so you can recognise easily it. In fact, it is located near a square, where there are some bars and restaurants, a very nice place to relax and see views of the old town. Pitifully, we came here the last October, low season, and we could not go up to the tower, next time.

Sveti Mihovil (or St. Michael Church, in English) is a tiny chapel located in the old town of Korcula, near the Town hall. It is a very nice little building, which you can see from the arcades of the town hall. Also, the church has a bell tower in the center of the main facade. Very nice place to visit, when you walk around the old town in the city.

If you want a unique view and feel like it would be like a soldier on watch protecting your town? Then you must climb the almost vertical stairs and absorb the ambience, the bonus is you can have a quenching drink, which is winched up the side of the tower! Not a lot of room so don’t be shy mix and mingle with everyone else
