The online reservation didn’t clarify the direction of the seats relative to the train direction. The choices of meals are expensive and unattractiv. Unfortunately some passengers talk loudly and interrupts our focus on watching and enjoying the fantastic mountains and its peaks, snow covered areas, valleys, lakes, water falls and streams as well as bridges. My wife and I have been very interested in the tour for several years but if the experiences related by several travelers in the past year are anywhere near accurate, we will re-think our desire to ride the Glacier Express. He had the best stories and even made the history of Switzerland interesting.

The whole tour experience was excellent from the beginning when I was picked up at my hotel by Marc, the guide, all the way to the end. I strongly recommend the private tour especially to people that wish to unwind in paradise -like places and enjoy nature and the real Switzerland to the max. Being received with a warm greeting by Mark, including a Toblerone chocolate bar, we headed from Zurich to the south, driving through Immensee area where you have great views from the highway , passing through Brunnen where we stopped for a couple of minutes to take stunning lake views, and the first stop was the very original swiss town of Aldorf, where I learned about the origins of Switzerland and Wilhelm Tell, the national hero. Very interesting story indeed. Then we continued our journey to Bürglen, Uri canton with stunning towns views. After that experience we stopped in a natural waterfall at Unterschächen. Breathtaking experience for the senses. For a stressed out entrepreneur like me, this was an incredible moment of relaxation and reflection. Words are not enough. So much beauty and peace. We continue going to observe the glacier of Urnerboden after a 30 minute trekking climb, which is by the way a great workout for your body and soul. Incredible views from the glacier. See photos. I can continue mentioning other places we visited with more waterfalls and perfect nature settings, but, since those are places that no tourist crowds go normally, I would recommend you to contact Marc and live this unforgettable adventure. It´s worth every single penny. And I don´t want to forget for those chocolate lovers to make a stop at Läderach outlet shop. High quality chocolates for a fraction of the retail price. Yum!
Once again, perfect day, perfect tour, amazing guide and all I can say is: don´t look further if you need a private tour to enjoy the best in Switzerland. Marc, being an experienced environmentalist, it´s your best option. As I contacted My Swiss Lake Tour I was pleasantly surprised to know that we could make it a more sporty by including a wake boarding activity in addition to exploring the lake.
Eric was very attentive to detail and made us feel very comfortable around him, after a the first 30 minutes passed it felt as if we were hoping on a friends boat.
In the morning we spent time exploring the Walensee, tanning and taking pictures of the Seerenbach Waterfall.
At lunch time, Eric took us to the picturesque little town of Quinten, we docked right in front of a beautiful restaurant where we had lunch while we enjoyed the open views of the lake and the alps. After lunch we took a stroll through Quinten and Eric offered to take pictures of us.
The second part of the day we spent the afternoon wake boarding and I have to give Eric extra points as he not only had a wake board but also a surfboard and this came in very handy as both, I and my wife, were not able to get up on the wake board as it was our first time. The added buoyancy of the surfboard made it so much easier and just made our day!
