Really enjoyed this day out seeing the more natural side of Senegal. The reserve is full of animals, on the game drive saw something new every few minutes. Particularly enjoyed the boat trip on the Somone lagoon, was nice and relaxed. Abdoulaye was a great guide, very engaging through the day. Just be aware it is a full day trip not half but was back at the hotel before 5.

Best choice we could have made as Cruise passengers with limited time! Mika communicated very effectively leading up to tour which we shared van w/2 other passengers. The vehicle was very good for Dakar’s standards & very comfortable to get in/out. Mika’s local knowledge & wonderful smile made us feel so safe & cared for throughout the day! Bandia was AMAZING & so worth the extra distance. We saw endangered white rhino, giraffes grazing tree canopy, 1000 yr old Baobabs & more. There was long wait when we arrived but Mika arranged perfect safari truck & great local ranger ahead of others who walked up to book safari. Pink lake (40% salt) was interesting to learn about how locals do salt harvesting but can be skipped if in a time crunch. Thank you Mika for a glorious day in Dakar!

This tour is an exceptionally organized and entertaining adventure through Senegal. I customized it to 8 days. Amadou and his team ensured I was safe and happy the entire time. Malang was more than a tour guide and treated me like a friend, enthusiastic to show me his country, and seemed to know every local we encountered along the way! The tour includes lovely accommodation and excellent meals.

The Saloum Delta picnic was an unforgettable experience and one of my favourites, but it is really hard to pick from all the fun and interesting things we saw and did.

Eric was an amazing guide! I highly recommend him, as he was super friendly and great company on our excursion to Bandia Reserve. I recommend that you reach out to him first before booking as he offers highly customizable experiences that will meet your needs and wants during your visit to Dakar. One of many highlights was after tasting the monkey bread fruit from the Baobab tree, on our way back he purchased us a bottle of the juice. I wish we had more time to take in the rest of the city and surrounding area with him, as he was able to tell us a out each building as we drove through the city to the reserve. Thank you Eric for providing us a wonderful excursion!

We went on the Bandai Reserve and Mangrove tour with Malang and it was amazing! As a foreigner with very little French, I cannot imagine going to these places without him as our tour guide. He handled everything for us. He also talked with us and the children a lot and taught us so much about Senegalese culture. Don’t hesitate, book with this company!

This an excellent day excursion from Dakar. It's well organized, the guides really know their animals and they keep you informed. The ride lasts for a couple of hours, there's some shade from the roof cover but arms and legs might need some sunblock. You'll need water. The ride is bumpy but not rough and the seats are comfortable enough. The animal encounters are really excellent, especially for a first time. We saw giraffe, Zebra, hippos, ostriches, antelope and more. Great photo opportunities. There's a decent snack bar at the end near the croc pool but you'll need to keep the monkeys off your snacks! There's a bathroom stop before after.

First, it was hard to find our specific driver/guide among the many at cruise port, as he didn't have our name on a sign like the other tour operators had. We worked hard to get off our cruise ship right on time (8:15) for an 8:30 confirmed departure time. Driver had us wait at his car for over an hour while he helped organize other SGT tours. Our tour at Pink Lake was not arranged ahead of time so there were no 4x4s available there; we waited again before they finally found an alternative 4x4, but it kept breaking down, stopped for a long time in sand dunes before they could re-start it. Also, the Pink Lake was not pink at all and there is nothing interesting to see there, so not worth the time it involved. We were eager to go to Bandia Park safari, the main attraction of this tour! By the time we got to Bandia, it was getting late, so we had to skip the included Lunch altogether, and had to shorten our safari time considerably. Only had about 1 hr on safari, as the drive from Pink Lake is long and then driving in very heavy traffic back to the Port takes 2 hours, and we made it back just in time before the "all abord" time for passengers before the ship leaves. We wished we had left at 8:30 as promised, gone straight to Bandia for safari, and skipped "Pink" Lake altogether. At the Lake we just saw the salt extraction area, equipment and some salt piles. Driving the very rough sand dunes to the strip of sand at the sea was also a waste of time unless you've never ridden off-road or seen the ocean-- especially frustrating in a vehicle that broke down a few times and you sit, waiting and wondering if you are going to get going again, and if you will ever get to your safari.

It was a pleasure touring Dakar three days with Malang. We visited Gorée Island, Lac Rose, Bandia Reserve and the City Centre. He was very knowledgeable, informative, and accommodating. We had a very memorable time and learned a lot about the history and culture of Senegal. Thank you for enriching us with your experience.

We entered the reserve and was immediately viewing monkeys. We boarded a safari truck with a park guide and set off down a dirt road.Along the way you see all sorts of wildlife and the truck stops and the ranger points out the animals and tells you about them .There are plenty of chances for photos but try and get an outside seat if you have a large camera. There were a good assortment of animals and birds to keep you busy .There are no carnivores out in the park so you are safe from that danger .There are hyenas and crocodiles at the entrance in secure areas for you to view . I wuld take a bottle of water with you as it is quite hot and can be dusty if you are behind another vehicle .The highlight for me was getting close to the rhinos and also a ostrich ran alongside the truck at quite a fast speed which was a nice surprise .
There are rest rooms and they were of a decent standard and clean. There is a restaurant as well so food is not a problem.
I would recommend a visit as it is part of africa that yoy do not see outside

The 8 day Tour was the experience of a lifetime. Not only did we get to experience the beauty of Senegal and The Gambia, we experienced first hand the culture of Senegalese peoples. Our guide Amadou was extremely knowledgeable and made sure that we learned and experienced the culture of the people. As an African American who was a descendant of previously enslaved captured Africans, this was a transformative adventure ( I would not call it vacation because it was educational, intense and explorative).
The visits to Goree Island and Kunta Kinte gave me the opportunity to “feel” the viciousness of enslavement, while the visits to small villages gave me a glimpse of the strength and beauty of my ancestors. I had a taste of the music, the art, the religions, and the food of this country. This taste left me wanting to know more and experience more. I do plan to repeat this adventure again.

My partner and I went on the Discovery Senegal 8 days trip with Senegal Tourists Guide. We had an amazing time! The trip took us all over the country, learning about the culture and having some incredible experiences. Senegal is a fascinating country with some beautiful beaches and engaging cultural history. We went in December, when it was hot and dry.

For the whole tour, we had a driver and a guide, who were both lovely. Our guide, Abdoulaye, was knowledgeable and interesting - we got to know him well over the week and he gave us fascinating insights into his country and customs. Some excursions provided English-speaking visits and on others, Abdou joined us and translated. He was very helpful when our GCSE-level French ran out, particularly when we tackled haggling in a market!

The itinerary was varied, with some wildlife outings, some cultural and historical, and a good amount of down-time. Of course, in order to see so many different things in one week, we did spend a bit of time in the car. The hotels we stayed in varied depending where we were in the country, but each had a comfortable room, a pool, local food in the restaurant and very hospitable staff.

I would absolutely recommend a trip to Senegal in general, and I would trust Senegal Tourists Guide again to give me a good experience on anything from a day trip to a multi-day tour like the one we did.
