Doesn't look like much from the outside which is deceiving. Mixture of bells you can ring is fun with plenty of info in courtyard . The tour we had was in excellent English (only 3 of us at the time ) .

Would highly recommend even to someone with no knowledge or interest previously in bells or foundries .

    Would reckon about 1 1/2 hours .

The staff here spoke excellent English for a start, as my French is not good. The one lady explained how to walk around the area using the various signs located in the pavement. She also gave us good information on 5he museums.

It was a lively market day and the church offered a peaceful place to sit and pray or light a candle. It also has some interesting windows and sculptures.

This is an interesting place to see the materials that gave the place its name. The display of lace making was excellent and a good demonstration too. useful film show in French too.

A visit to this atelier is a step back in time to an age when the best quality was produced from the sweat of highly skilled artisans rather than mass produced by machines in China.

Whilst tending to the needs of tourists with a multi-lingual film (albeit produced in the 1990's) and a gift shop, the heart of the experience is seeing a workshop which has probably changed very little in 100 years and where a vast array of copper products (standard and bespoke) are still made using techniques developed in the Victorian age of machinery and before.

It's not clear that much english is ever offered and the french spoken on our tour was too technical, colloquial and accented for my modest language talents but that didn't matter as the demos needed no explanation and the need to support such a wonderful heritage with a purchase went without saying.

Don't miss this place. It may not be there forever!
