    Ermita de San Telmo is a church located in Zumaia, a coastal town in Gipuzkoa Region, in the Basque Country. It is in the upper part of the town, just in front of the sea. The church, which was probably built in the Middle Ages, is little and it was closed, when we visited the region in the middle of october. However the views of the sea and the Algorri Peak are wonderful. Really you can enjoy with flysch (prehistoric rocks typical in the coast of Basque Country). So, the church ok, the views great.

    beach and flysch are at the same place. If you can't walk or have time for the flysch-walk, you can find a quiet beach and the natural phenomenon on this place;

    St. Peter th Apostole Church is the main church of Zumaia, a coastal town in Gipuzkoa Region, in Basque Country. It was built in gothic style and it seems a big and impressive building, if you see it from far. While you go to the old town, you can see it in the upper part. Very nice fortified church.

    If you visit Zumaia, it's probably because of the impressive and famous beach. And since GoT it's even more popular. And it is a magical place. But don't miss out on the excellent food in town and also on this little walk along the coastline and cliffs.

    Since the weather can change quickly even in summer and it can get wet fast I recommend some good shoes. Most part is pretty flat and easy to do, but just after the chapel it is a bit steep.

    You get some really nice views of the beach and the coastline. Once we've been here on a sunny day. This time it was cloudy and wet. But that made the atmosphere even better, it makes it look very eerie. We liked it.

    There are some visitors, but a lot less than around the beach. And it's great to bring your dog as well. Our Bulldog managed just fine.

    Definitely a must-do when in Zumaia. And it's really just around the corner from the beach. Accessable from the chapel, just behind a Hotel.

    Punta Algorri is a rock located close to the sea in a town called Zumaia, in Gipuzkoa Region, in Basque Country. In fact, it is located in the upper side of the town close to San Telmo Church. From this place you can see wonderful views of the sea, the mountains and the surroundings of the town, especially Punta Algorri, the most beautiful place here. It is a flysch rock, where you can go by walk and see great views of surrounding flysch. In fact, it is possible to do a little walk to go to the peak and go around mountains. Great place!

    This is a very special, small private museum totally funded by the artist's family. The grounds, the studio and a family chapel are something you may only have a short time to see. It is not a museum of his paintings. It is a museum that showcase his life as a monumental Spanish painter...a friend of Rodin, Toulouse Lautrec, Picasso, Monet, Manet, Goya and others at the turn of the 20th century. You see his studio, a few of his works and those of his friends. It is a step back in time that makes this period of art alive and real. There are almost no private museums left and when this owner is gone so will be this experience. Read up about the artist before you go. But be sure you go. It is very special. When you leave, and you see that he comes from a line of Basque artisans, your understanding of his importance to Spain will explain why his work is exhibited in major museums all over the world.
