Located 55 minutes from Pirenópolis with a 10km dirt road section in good conditions. Waze will guide you there.
Beautiful breathtaking waterfall accessible via a 30 minute hike along a paved trail mostly in the shade.
Another 30 minute hike on the way back along a different canion trail also in the shade.
Both trails have steep sections and are not recommended for people with limited mobility.
The entrance fee costs R$ 50 and is well worth it because nature is fully preserved and trails are paved and safe with banisters.
    Owner Rômulo is very friendly.

There are 8 different waterfalls. One can bath in all of them. There is a well signalized trail connecting them and, except for one hike wich is a tougher climb, all the rest is accessible to most everybody. The place is VERY peacefull and is worth bringing snacks and something to drink along. The view is magic and the vegetation is very typical of Brazilian Midwest.

It maybe not the most famous, but it is certainly the one closest to the city. The waterfalls are beautiful. The trail is well signilazed and the woods are nice. Part of the trail goes inside a cattle farm (on the lower part, so the water is not contaminated). There are 6 waterfalls and one can bath and swin in most of them. If one doesn´t have much time, this is a good choice.

Everything is downhill and steep. A natural pool is 300 meters away over very loose ground. People leave walking sticks in a pile for those that follow. I saw other people who, like me, needed a place to catch their breath before leaving.

The Usina Velha waterfall is very entertaining! The walking stretch to the waterfall is only 50 meters long. We visited the place on Jan 1, 2020, with our family and everyone had an amazing time! There are many easy small falls to bathe in and play. And those who enjoy jumping from rock to rock can have a ball at this place!
The downside was that the place was crowded, as it was a holiday, but everyone was friendly. The local cafeteria is very limited, so make sure to bring your own snacks and drinks. The restrooms are also poor quality and, by the time we left, they were quite smelly...
Price: 30 BRL/ person. Children under 10 do not pay. Visitors 60+ pay half price.

Me and my friend went to Pirenopolis as it is close to Brasilia and for being famous for the short waterfalls (Cachoeiras) everywhere. As soon as we reached Pirenopolis by bus we asked around to look for a hotel or a Pousada (motel) to spend the night. As soon as we settled we asked the pousada reception for a nice Cachoeira to enjoy the next day and we were told about Cachoeira das Araras so we decided to go first thing in the next morning. the only transportation to Cachoeira das Araras was even cycling which i think will take you long time so be prepared to give yourself enough time (1 hour or more) or to rent a bike. You can ask the motel to call someone to pick you up and take you to the Cachoeira das Araras with their bike for some money in return (make sure you so lots of haggling) I remember i did the two way trips for 50 riyals and I gave them the money after so I would make sure they wont leave me in the forest without a way to go back. The way to the waterfalls (Cachoeira das Araras.) was really beautiful in the middle of the forest and the cold breeze. We reached Cachoeira das Araras and it was really far and not as we expected and not much people there so you could have some privacy and you won't find any tourists there so make sure you memorize some Portuguese. The walked for like 20 to 30 mins to reach the waterfalls from the gate. their is a fee of 10 or 20 riyals on gate i don't remember exactly. I reached the Cachoeira and it was really beautiful and the water was so refreshing and not crowded. I even gave it a try to walk in the forest but be careful because the stream of water is so fast and the rocks are slippery and u can fall and you wont find someone to help you if you are alone. make sure you pack your belongings in a waterproof bag if you wanna hike the Forrest behind the Cachoeira. I recommend this location to every adventurer who wants to have lots of fun and some private time away from touristic attractions and hike location no one hiked before.
