- Bijoux123New York City, NY75 contributionsBook this amazing Palace well in advance or you will miss this architectural/ historical gem! We took a guided tour with an experienced local tour guide. We asked a lot of questions which provided a greater appreciation of the palace/fortress history.Written March 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DotsGirl2Vancouver, Canada620 contributionsThis is an interesting large garden with some amazing viewpoints overlooking the city. Don’t expect a lot of flowers it is more about the layout and the water features. We enjoyed itWritten March 11, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JellyBSingapore, Singapore880 contributionsWe had the perfect morning walk. Our tour lasted 2 hours. We got a good history lesson and more beautiful views of the Alhambra.
It was fun to meander past beautiful homes. You need good walking shoes.
Definitely worth a visit and if you enjoy staying away from the touristy sights, this is perfection. Give at least two hours for this place. If you are going to stop for a coffee and watch the world go by, give yourself three hours.Written September 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was purposefully built for Queen Isabella once it was found that she only had a short period of time to live, as her resting place, along with other members of the royal family. Unfortunately, yet, understandably, no photos are allowed inside the building. Well worth a visit. Tickets can ve purchased alongside those to the Cathedral in a single package.Written October 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sally62Northampton, UK6,082 contributionsThis hillside area of Granada is further up into the hills from the Albaicin district. We took a taxi up to the Abbey and then walked down the hillside - it would be a very long, steep climb up. We visited in the afternoon and it was extremely hot and there was no shade so bear that in mind. It's an interesting area with caves in the hillside which were originally used for Christian worship and then as homes by the poor gypsy families. There are some restaurants and flamenco shows as well as a museum about cave-dwelling.Written August 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland68,454 contributionsAn astonishing exemplar of the Baroque in countering the Reformation and all the actions of it in reducing the faith to a shadow of what it previously embodied.
Exquisite ornamentation is riotously throughout. Every surface is embellished in gilt and statuary.
Truly a wondrous experience in the primacy of the Catholic faith.Written February 28, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had a guided tour that was berry good at explaining its history.Written March 11, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ryan SCardiff, UK1,251 contributionsThe Carrera del Darro stretches along the bottom of the Alhambra which boasts grand views of its walls and many towers. The street also has many historic buildings along it as well as a picturesque stream. The street starts from the palace square and can lead you to Sacromonte, a picturesque nieghnourhood full of pretty white cave houses.Written October 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RGHIndianapolis, IN7 contributionsThe hike has terrain changes throughout. River was so high water rushing which at beginning was hike along river edge. Then you come to hanging bridges section. Beautiful & off trial options to gain higher elevation views if you want. The cave/river rock section is balance challenge thrill. Crawling sections along the way. Put your baseball hat backwards so you don’t hit rock edge and oops fall into river. After this exhilarating section you will ascend up via switchback to mountain peak. Beautiful views of Los Chorass Monchill granite peaks. The descend section they olive gardens is mostly down concrete path. That is not fun section. Highly recommend this hike!!Written October 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Christian P40 contributionsTouring Andalusia with the family we stopped in the Science Museum to do something also with our young child. I have to say I was happily and really surprised because the pictures you see mostly on Internet or nothing compared to the entire structure which is pretty big and divided in a good way to not bore visitors too much and you can go on to the next kind of science. I recommend it mostly for children...there are many things just for them...more than for adults although I have to say, as an adult, I found it quite interesting and I wasn't expecting the outdoor areas and the cafeteria. I enjoyed the geology/planet earth area, the butterfly garden, and space area most...plus the huge rocks being spun around with just water.
There's enough parking on the road in front and I saw an underground parking. Everything for a great price of 7€ wh8ch is nothing compared to other countries.
Only bad thing is the worst architecture of the CajaGranada Fundacion building in front of the museum...the architect should be ashamed for such an ugly box structure and the city should have denied permission to build , reason ugliness ruining the image of the city.Written August 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A huge amount of work must have gone into creating this.
But for me the real highlight was the cloisters, with their simplicity and lovely courtyard. When I was there, the nuns who live here were conducting a service in a small chapel while we walked around the cloisters, and we could hear them singing. It added a romantic touch to the visit.
It's not that well known, so it likely won't be very crowded during your visit.Written October 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
