There was an open day to visit the government building which also might give the chance of seeing Mount Fuji but it was still covered in fog! However got some great pictures of Japan in general. I believe it had 45 floors!! Was a great way to see all over Tokyo which shows that they plant as many trees and shrubs as they can! It is noticeable that you can see far and wide and do not smell vehicle fumes even on main roads.

We did a 5pm-8pm tour with Agrigto Travel. Giulia was knowledgeable and entertaining about the area where we walked. There were 5 in the group plus guide. The variety, quality and quantity of the three restaurants we visited was good, plus a bar at the end capped a good evening despite the rain.

I'm not a big fan of the observatories, but Tocho does a fantastic night lightup! It's spectacular. So beautiful. It'll take you to another world for a while. It starts at 19:00 and every 30 minutes until 21:00. One show lasts for 15 minutes. The schedule will change in summer, so check it before heading out.

The vibe on the street was fantastic with smell of barbecue and most stalls are full. We walked through the street but did not eat we just ate but it was sooo tempting. Just go visit if you can but plan for a dining. Oh don’t search with google for yakitori alley as it’ll bring you to a restaurant named that.

On my latest trip to Japan, we stayed near Shin-Okubo, and went there twice, to have a lovely korean bulgogi/bbq. I have been to South Korea a few years ago, and really loved it there. Food wise, one of the things I really loved, was the korean bbq, where you grill your meat on a grill on your table, and then wrap it into a salad leave, and may add some ingredients like kimchi, garlic, gochugang, pickled radish etc. What I loved in South Korea, I found here, and that was great.

Pretty cool looking Godzilla. Nothing special about the area. Just a bunch of bars and some restaurants. Very touristic area of Shinjuku

Walk the streets here during the day then at night. A huge difference. It's crazy but it's all part of the fun. Lots of clubs and bars.

Great attraction, the road is always busy. The lights make it look out of a movie. Lots of restaurants, shopping.

The park is actually on the south side of the station, in the same building as the Expressway Bus/Airport Express bus (it's by Elevator A on the second floor).

Unfortunately, the park is closed until June 2020 and as of January, there is nothing in the space.

The clock in the lobby area is really cool, and it's very near the Shinjuku Metropolitan Government building (and its 230m high free observatory)so you can stop by and catch this with close to zero extra effort. The top two floors are all restaurants, some of them good, and a bridge across the huge atrium with a glass view down the whole way. Worth stopping by!

Busy, confusing and Amazing! I will admit, we got lost here and overwhelmed by all the signs,l and people but somehow, that all added to the experience. This is a great place to start your exploration of the neighborhood, just wander the street and admire the city life.
