Try not to be a person that gets dizzy easily as there's about 20-30 hairpins up and down before you get from l'Escarene to Sospel. Nature and views do make up for it.

Knowing the history of this bridge - as a point for imposing taxes on salt - explains the narrow roadway and towering gatehouse. It’s a nice old (restored after WW2 damage) bridge that links the two halves of Sospel. Worth a look and walking over if you are visiting.

We were not expecting to find such a beautiful and imposing cathedral in the small village of Sospel. It was deserted when we visited on a hot afternoon in August and it provided some respite from the heat. There are beautiful frescoes and it's certainly worth a visit. The bell tower looks very old. Recommended!

A surprising, excellent and moving museum, easy to walk to from Sospel and wonderfully cool on a hot day! Highly recommended for all ages.

On July 17, 2017, my friend and I (in our 40's and 50's) went on a day-long bike ride with Frédéric and two young Belgian tourists. It was so wonderful! I would do it again in a heartbeat! We took the train from Nice (get your train tickets prior to the day of your train ride!) and Frédéric met us at the Sospel train station. He drove us to our departure point and oriented us to our bikes. (I had wondered if I would be at all cold in the higher altitude, but I was fine in my tank top.) The trail was pretty rocky at times, but I managed to maintain control of my bike. Frédéric gave me the tip about braking more with the rear brakes so as to not go head over heels over the front of my bike. (Neither my friend nor I were very experienced mountain bikers.) It was amazing having the ability to give myself an electric boost when I felt like I couldn't pedal any more. And, even more amazing, I could give myself a SECOND electric boost when I tired out again. (You turn off the electric power when you don't need it. Then you can boost - and boost again - whenever needed. My friend nearly used up her battery, but Frédéric just swapped his (unused?) battery with hers.) The scenery was breathtaking, and the 20-minute coast at the end was so much fun. (I told Frédéric he should offer the full-day, the half-day, and the 20-minute coast!) You must get the authentic lunch. It was plentiful, delicious, and oh, so French! Frédéric was very personable, kind, and patient. I loved it that he would frequently slow down to chat with the rider pulling up the rear - always my friend or me, of course. And he wouldn't slow down to encourage us to speed up (although he was encouraging); he would slow down to chat with us, taking our mind off our aching legs and butt! I cannot give this experience a high enough recommendation. A knowledgeable, friendly guide, the scenery of the Maritime Alps, authentic food, an outdoor activity unlike anything I'd done before (LOVED that electric motor on my bike!) all adds up to you must do this! It happens that I speak French, but Frédéric's English is very good, so you need not speak any French to partake in this tour. (Frédéric, I'm sorry it took me so long to write this review!)

We absolutely can´t recommend Blue Water Outdoor Canyoning! We made very bad experience which I can´t descirbe in detaili here because it would be really shocking to read it. Just a few notes: harassment, stalking, etc. from the crew itself.... We were there with 4 girls and we didn´t feel save at all.
