Lovely place to visit (it's cool in the summer to which is a bonus!) but stunning views of the area and amazing museum (worth the few euros to enter as it's amazing) and the place itself is lovely.
The abbey was reconstructed by the Americains, very nice magnific marble, the view on the mountain is exceptional of the campagna Romana and to Cassino town.

And, of course, the site of the cemetery makes it so very clear why so many are buried here -- you can see miles & you can so easily imagine the many attacks coming up that very very very steep mountain.
Beautifully looked after and was in excellent condition, a very calming although sad visit with views in the background of the abbey
