We had a lovely wander around this well kept park. The dog enjoyed a good run. The flower borders are beautiful. Used the cafe for a good cup of coffee and a lovely slice of cake.

A lovely reserve, which is well signposted and the volunteer staff are very well informed. No refreshments so bring your own.

On a beautiful June morning we arrived and parked. It wasn’t very busy, but nearly all the parking spaces were full. In the school holidays, I should imagine it becomes Impossible to park. We admired the marina, very picturesque, and learnt about the industrial heritage of the port from various display boards, and a small visitors’s centre. Small , pleasant cafe with hot drinks and a range of food, cakes, ice creams etc. Toilets in the former mortuary, a nice touch ! As we were going on elsewhere, we didn’t spend very long there, but it appeared to be possible to go for some longer walks. The harbour is quite a long way from Lydney town-so unless you are a very keen Walker, make sure you have a bike or car to get you there.

A fantastic little antiques, bric-a-brac and collectables shop. A treasure trove of interesting stuff to browse through spread over two areas, a smaller shop and a large warehouse area with larger items. The owner was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, he even made us a free coffee! For some weekend or Wednesday browsing and to find those hidden bargains, I thoroughly recommend this little shop.

Lydney off the A48 - what a find! Took grandchildren its a 15 hole crazy golf surrounded by lovely gardens/trees, there are 2 barns with extra games, (pool, giant connect 4, table tennis, air hockey, football table) all at no extra cost. Day passes: £6 for children/OAP/concessions & £7 for adults. Well worth it you can go off and come back l8r same day and with a number of other attractions nearby, or go around as many times as you like. The winner of the group gets a certificate. Would recommend but check opening dates/times before you go
