    Great tour
    Fantastic tour overall. Firstly, our tour guide Brahim was very professional and made us feel very welcome and was also very knowledgable. The tour itself was well planned out and the two wineries visited were excellent. Met some great people on the tour and can’t fault it. Well worth the money.

    Wonderful Douro Valley Experience!
    What a wonderful way to experience the Douro Valley. Our small mixed group visited 2 wine Quintas, sampled both Port wine and a mixture of white, rose and red wines. We had great hosts who served the wines, gave us a tour around and explained so many things about the making of each wine. We had a very authentic lunch, followed by a boat trip up the Douro River with some amazing views of the terraced vineyards. The whole experience was made all the more special by Sofia (our guide) who's depth of knowledge of Portuguese and Douro history was spot on. Her personality, enthusiasm and drive to ensure everyone had a great experience, rounded everything off into a perfect Douro day. Great job, thank you so much.

    Your Tours The Best
    This was the best guided tour we've had of all our tours in Europe & Great Britain. When they say "your tours" they mean it - Pascal made sure that we had the time to see what we wanted to see in a very personalized fashion. There were special experiences and side trips that we had not anticipated to be so nice.

    Give the highest recommendation of Pascal (a co-founder) and Your Tours.

    A perfect way to experience a perfect day. History, culture, great port & wine tastings, great food and terrific guide!
    From the friendly bus pick up in Porto to the return some nine hours later, we had nothing but good experiences. The wine operator tours and lectures were not too long yet very enthusiastic and informative. The river cruise itself was relaxing and incredibly beautiful.
    Lunch was absolutely delicious and the servers were fun and professional. The transport bus was quiet and comfortable and the driver was awesome... Both safe and proficient. Guests interacted after a short period to share stories and experiences making the trip very enjoyable.
    Best of all was our guide Milena who knitted all the experiences together into a perfect day. She was very friendly and warm, informative and kind, enthusiastic and genuine. She did not stay on the microphone too much as other tour guides tend to do, and she knew her stuff. On a scale of 1-10... We give the whole experience a solid 10. Milena herself was a 15!

    An amazing experience
    A wonderful experience. As a Greek, I thought that I have had a lot of wine but Porto wine just hits differently. So good. The places visited were both amazing. The guide,  Brahim, was excellent, fun and friendly. I will most definitely return to do this again one day¬

    Great all day wine tour, one of the best we’ve done
    Amazing wine tour! We were picked up in Lamego and enjoyed an amazing day with Andreia and her husband! Fantastic hosts from start to finish. Very knowledgeable of the area and great connections with the local wineries. We have been on many wine tours in France, Canada, etc and this may have been the best one we’ve ever done. Highly recommend Over the larger companies etc. loved it!

    Good wine tour
    Interesting information about the Douro valley and winemaking from our guide and driver Helio. Good vineyards visited with generous tastings and knowledgeable staff at the wineries. Included lunch was generous and tasty. One of the best trips we had during our time in Portugal

    Douro Valley well worth the time
    Our guide, Anselmo, was terrific. He greeted us on time at our hotel and drove us out to the Douro Valley. The trip each way was about 90 minutes so be prepared for that. Anselmo was a safe driver - key when you are in a car for 4 hours. What a wonderful day with a knowledgeable guide. The boat trip down the river as special - the views looking up at the terraces unique. Anselmo was full of interesting facts about the region and its history. We had a lovely lunch at a winery and then visited another for a tasting. Overall, I would highly recommend spending the day visiting Douro valley - it is a special place and understanding its role in the creation of wine in the area brought the history to life. Also highly recommend Anselmo - he as a true professional and a pleasure to be with.

    fantastic experience even in the rain
    We had a fantastic experience with Mario! He arranged to pick us up at our rental which was quite far away from their usual area in Regua, and despite the rainy weather we had a lovely day visiting two different quintas for wine/port tastings as well as an amazing lunch. Mario is very knowledgable of everything in the area and has great insights into the wine business having worked in it for years. Highly recommend this experience!

    An incredible day - not to be missed!
    We had the best day in the duoro valley with our guide Paul - he was so knowledgable about the area and good fun too! Couldn’t recommend it any more!

    Fantastic Scenery - Eye Candy
    We were picked up at the Oporto (Leixoes) cruise terminal by our private driver who drove us to The Miradouro de Sao Leonardo de Galafur for exceptional views. The entire drive out was breathtakingly scenic. We stopped briefly at Amarante and Pinhao, both very small towns finishing our tour at Oporto in about 8 hours. Wish we had more time and hope to be in the area again in the future.

    Best tour ever
    Andreia and Valdemar took my wife and I on an amazing private tour of the Duoro. They tailored it just for us, making it exactly what we wanted. They picked us up and dropped us off from the town where we were staying. When they saw that we would be wearing masks, they immediately wore them too - which we really appreciated.
    Andreia speaks English extremely well, making it easy for us to relax and enjoy our tour.
    As we travelled to 2 different wineries - 1 large and 1 small, she gave us lots of information along the way. Valdemar was a great driver, making us feel safe as he carefully drove the winding, narrow roads. He also contributed to giving us information.
    They are lovely people and we would recommend them to anyone who would like a unique experience. Their tour is not a duplicate of so many others that we saw….they really care about the area of the Duoro where they live and were born. It’s a day that we’ll remember….and thanks also to them for taking photographs for us along he way.

    Great day out
    We went as a group of 6 people. Our driver Nuno was on time and very friendly. He kept us informed throughout the trip taking is to three wineries. The boat trip was stunning. The lunch was really good and the Douro river valley is beautiful. All in all a great trip.

    Amazing customized experience - our best day in Douro!!
    We booked a guide in Douro Valley for a day of wine tastings, a wine-pairing lunch and a Rabelo boat ride. We were extremely lucky that the original travel agency we booked with contracted our 'tour' to Ivo Lobo. From the moment Ivo picked us up at our hotel, we felt we were with a friend. Ivo is very knowledgeable about the area and has many connections as well. We had a planned out itinerary, but as soon as Ivo learned our preferences and what we really wanted to get out of the day, he went to work to make it the best day possible. He booked us on a private, gorgeous boat for a river cruise and took us to THE most incredible viewpoint in Douro Valley at a privately owned property (thanks to his relationships and connections).

    We could not provide a higher recommendation for Ivo and ByTheLocalsTours. He is amazing!! We're ready to go back just so we can have Ivo plan out our whole trip!
