What travellers are saying
- Priyanka9987Mumbai, India521 contributionsHighly recommended trek/ walk and must visit places near Wayanad. The trek takes about 2.5 hrs with a 6-yr old. Takes 20mons till entry point, 40 mins for the uphill trek till the highest point and 20 mins downhill back to parking
The trek is steep but has many places to take a break, with greenery all around with great views. The view from the top is beautiful and the cave drawings are must see. Take the help of a guide to understand what they mean and they also take very good pics of you. Start early by 8-9am and be done by noon. Weekends are crowded with school and college groups..quite touristy entrance and a great place to shop for things back home in the form of banana chips chocolates eucalyptus oil and spicesWritten November 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Also , best to arrive early and leave before maximum crowds reach here. One needs to climb down a bit to reach the waterfall. So conserve your energy for the way back up. Also, the entry ticket needs to be paid in cash and they expect exact change.Written July 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ankoor BBengaluru, India13 contributionsThe viewpoint is good to look at the winding mountain roads. When we went there, we could see a lot of low clouds which gave an excellent view.
Other than this there isn’t much else here.Written May 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Surendran PChennai District, India197 contributionsA Nice Cute small waterfall falling from the top in to a small pool. You have to walk down through few steps in a muddy and rocky walkway. You can reach the bottom of the fall just by holding a single rope walking on a rocky slope’ which is uneven. But you can enjoy the fresh stream when you reach the bottom. Aged people can enjoy the falls from distance not getting down / Not risking. There are staffs available near the falls to help. Toilet facilities are available which is neat. You can enjoy lime soda at the shops, a must try.Written February 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - V Sridhar SBengaluru, India137 contributionsA good walk around the lake would take 30-45 minutes. Not very large crowds do the round. Good place for some photography.
Boat rides - like at all venues - would be a longish wait. There is a small ice cream place. A park for kids - swings, slides, climbing setup.
No need of taking the short diversion just to visit the lake. However it may fit in if you have time to spare before or after the long climb up the lakkidi ghat section.Written January 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Got see some interesting birds - cormorants, eagles, kingfisher etc....Sightings of monkeys, elaphants and wild boards are pretty regular. If you are lucky might see the predators - tiger, leopard and Indian wild dogsWritten August 3, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - niluanuChennai (Madras), India671 contributionsThis waterfall is located a short distance from Banasura Sagar Dam. Parking is available near the Forest Division ticket counter. You do need to walk some distance from the parking to reach the falls. The path is undulating and not in very good condition. You need to be very watchfulWritten October 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jagan5577Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), India275 contributionsBeautiful spot to spend in the afternoon/evening.Lots of rides arranged in the adventure park and a longest zip line for more adventurous experiences. The dam top was blocked while we visited there but we enjoyed the beautiful view of the dam and surroundings. Very clean toilets are available inside the park. You must keep currency for entry tickets as they don't accept UPI payments. The road to this destination is not good in some parts. There are some snack shops for refreshing.Written November 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- V Sridhar SBengaluru, India137 contributionsA bit away from the regular. The drive to the place is quite good. Once you reach, there is a car park ground and good rest rooms. Buy some tickets and off for the walk to the bamboo boats. The boats are operated by pulling around some ropes.
There is a good attempt to limit foot fall. Some 500 odd visitors a day (including the east and west entrance).
There is a small walking path with some swings on the way. A couple of bamboo bridges. The trees are labelled with the plant variety.
You then reach a clearing where rocks bridge the river stream. Folks wade knee deep to reach across the rocks and indulge in some photography.
More can be done to make it informative.Written January 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It wasn't the same view as the view point but it was pretty amazing, particularly getting so close to the waterfall.
That said, it wasn't safe and I wouldn't do it again.. Especially alone.
If you're really set on seeing this place, it's beatiful but it's not easy and you want to start early because you could easily get lostWritten February 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We however had sightings of deer, elephants, peacocks etc.
After knowing about the forest we thought that safari experience could have been designed much better.Written February 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
