- travelisa3 contributionsWe (a family of 3 with a 3 year old) did the 1 night trip to Isla Iguana with San Blas Frontera and I would certainly recommend them if you are looking for an authentic experience. The people on Isla Iguana are lovely and accommodating. The island itself feels remote without being too far from civilisation and the afternoon tour to the snorkel spots was good. Sleeping in the huts overnight was a really cool experience; listening to the sound of the ocean was our favourite. The beds and the huts themselves are very basic (and quite comfortable) but they’re authentic, which is what we wanted to experience. They turn off the generator on the island at around 10pm and it’s only lit by moonlight which I thought was a great thing to see! Our 3 year old daughter really liked it too, but I will say that one night was enough if you have small children. The food was basic but tasty and there are plenty of drinks and water to buy on the island if you need them. The only slightly negative part of the whole trip was the car journey through the mountains, myself and my daughter were car sick; we didn’t realise the journey from Panama City to the Kuna Yala port is around 4.5 hours. We left our hotel in Panama City at 5am and arrived to Isla Iguana at 10am; this long journey isn’t communicated clearly on the website. Aside from that, it was a really cool experience that we enjoyed!Written July 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Matthijs K1 contributionWe went on a 3-day island hopping trip with San Blas Easy. The islands were beautiful, the food was amazing (lobsters&fresh fish!) and everything was taken care of. There was literally nothing to worry about: our luggage was brought along the entire time, food drinks and overnight stay in either hammocks or bed was all taken care of! I also loved the fact that it didn't feel like a big commercial trip, as at every single island, foor and drinks were taken care of by the local families.
Every island felt like our own private island, where we could do whatever we want. We could chill out, play some volleybal or go snorkeling for instance! Even the snorkeling gear was brought along.
The guide and captains of the boats were fun guys and al together we had an amazing time. I literally have nothing negative to say about the entire trip. Maybe till one day Marco!!Written October 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I’ve travelled 60+ countries and have never ever experienced anything as unstructured, uncoordinated and non-communicated like this. Which also came with a premium price tag.
We had a 5day/4 night trip to different islands and at no point did we know what was going to happen. From the very beginning of the journey we had 5-6 people around us telling us different things. “I am your guide”, “ no, sorry, this man is your guide”. Guide then jumps off boat before departing. The captain didn’t even know which island we were supposed to go to… later we had a day trip and the engine broke, so we were left alone on a random island. After an hour We asked the island manager for help and it turned out that the operator forgot we were stuck. It was the island people, not the operator, that finally helped us reaching our destination before sunset. We were also promised a community visit but that never happened. And the cars had no safety belts and with reckless drivers balancing narrow mountain roads while looking at the phone. Complete unsafe! Everytime we tried to asked somebody when we will be transferred, no one knew. And when returning back, the driver was mere than 1 hour late so we were left at the harbour alone without anyone telling us what to expect. Lack of communication in general was outrageous. Stay away from Viajes San Blas!Written February 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
