Yesterday (Thursday 26th December, 2024), I took my parents, who were visiting from Trinidad, to the Tet Paul Nature Trail in Soufriere, St. Lucia. The entire experience was nothing short of amazing. Our tour guide, Mitchel, was extremely knowledgeable with respect to the history of the area and the flora met along the trail. His overall energy and spirit made for an enjoyable time with the four (4) adults and two children that accompanied him. I would recommend this to any couple or family looking for a cool nature walk and an awesomely magnificent view of the world famous Pitons. So get ready to experience a slice of paradise and heaven. 10/10 all round.

Amazing, beautiful day trip that did not require any strenuous activity. Cheap, and was able to do during off and on rain showers. Highly recommend Nico as taxi driver to take you around. His WhatsApp # is 758-712-9130. He is very accommodating, friendly, and safe driver, even bringing us lunch to have nearby the diamond falls (scheduled in advance).

This tour was the highlight of our trip to Saint Lucia - you will not get this experience anywhere else!

Silvanous was an amazing host and tour guide. He was able to offer us transport to and from Soufriere (paid) to get to his estate, as it is definitely "off-road" and no taxi will take you there. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and genuine.

We really enjoyed learning all about the birds and plant life on his property - he knows a lot about birds (recognizes the calls) and also was able to show us some really interesting things about some of the plants (sap, seeds, etc). We enjoyed hiking his lush rainforest trails (you do need to dress appropriately and wear proper hiking boots - I would not rate the trails as "light/easy"). He shared several local fruits with us - so fresh and delicious, and also fresh roasted cashews. We had the rare pleasure of seeing several rare specifics of birds, including the St. Lucian Parrot and St. Lucia Oriole. We saw several stunning views and heard some great stories from Silvanous.

He has a vision for this property and I hope he makes it happen - truly a unique experience well worth the off-rode ride and few hours spent at Grand Eden.

My wife & I went to St. Lucia at the end of Nov 2024. We had read great reviews of Mervin the Mountain Goat, so booked him for climbing both the Petit Piton and the Gros Piton. He and his partner, Sophia, certainly lived up to their reputation.
Mervin suggested climbing the Petit Piton first, since it is the tougher of the two. And for my opinion, as much as there are many fabulous views climbing the Gros Piton, I found that the views along the way and at the top of the Petit Piton are even more spectacular. We also relished the fact that there are sections on the Petit Piton where you have to use fixed ropes to climb up even steeper sections. I am 72 and my wife is 68, so we did engage in strength training in Canada before heading to St. Lucia, focusing on ankles, calves, thighs plus upper body and arms (knowing that ropes would be involved). Sophia was fabulous, safety first always, and on the more challenging sections showing us where to put our feet and how best to climb those sections.
For us, we knew that taking a slower pace for some climbs increases the probability of successful summitting. Earlier in our climb of the Petit Piton, we should have confirmed that our pace was appropriate to successfully summit. As much as Sophia encouraged us to quicken our pace in the lower half, it wasn’t until we reached the halfway marker that we realized how much we needed to quicken our pace. We tentatively set a plan whereby Sophia and I would continue to the summit while my wife awaited our return and then descend down together. Sophia contacted Mervin, and he offered an even better plan. Mervin was completing his guide, and he offered to climb up the Petit Piton to meet my wife and climb down together.
This all worked out superbly. Sophia and I were able to successfully summit the Petit Piton. Meanwhile Mervin climbed up to meet my wife. We both thoroughly enjoyed the climb, the unique experience with the ropes, the fabulous views, and the great support from both Sophia and Mervin.
The following day, my wife and I both successfully reached the summit of the Gros Piton. From the lessons we learned the previous day, we started earlier in the morning, and quickened our pace. The Gros Piton is not a “walk in the park”, since there are definitely steep sections, but not the ropes which the Petit Piton has.
If you’re interested in the flora and fauna on the climb, they’ll point out lots of them, from various bromeliads through to wild tobacco and lots more.
In closing, if you’re fit and have ensured you have the appropriate strength in your ankles, calves, thighs and arms, and have time to climb only one of the Pitons, then I’d absolutely recommend climbing the Petit Piton (you younger whipper-snappers can likely get away with no training) … otherwise go for the Gros Piton … they are both great. AND I’d thoroughly recommend you book Mervin the Mountain Goat early to ensure he or Sophia are available. His WhatsApp # is 1-758-384-7844

Gruelling 4+ hour hike scrambling up volcanic rock - and we loved every minute of it! Had Chad, an age-appropriate guide, to accompany us to the summit. Tougher than it looks - steep, rocky and hot, but offers an amazing view of Petit Piton at the halfway point and stunning vistas of Saint Lucia from the southern tip to the eastern shoreline. A serious hike so if you don't like the first 100 metres you won't like next 1,000 metres

It was a little difficult to find (we have our own rental car) but was well worth it. My husband and I were the only ones there. It was very relaxing and beautiful.

These falls are at the end of the path of the botanical gardens. There are some soaking pools nearby which looked like they haven't been cleaned in awhile so my wife and I didn't go in. The falls themselves are pretty and for the most part the area is peaceful as people tend to patiently wait for their picture and enjoy the sounds and sights.

Our day with Paul was the highlight of our stay in St. Lucia! We ate delicious, traditionally prepared food, had a tour of the farm and went to a beautiful beach. Paul and his cousin Curvie are wonderful hosts and lovely people. Highly highly recommend!

Wayne was our guide. Very nice, very knowledgeable. Kept the pace easy, as some of the hike is climbing lots of stairs.

Wayne stopped periodically to give background on plants and their uses. Also occasionally picked a leaf and let us smell

Wayne also took great photos for us, had towels and water, and a few small local snakes (“guava butter”)

I’m a big guy (300lbs 6’). I wore hiking shoes, don’t recommend sandals. It was muddy at times (fall rainy season). Was relatively cool in shade, which was the whole hike.

We spent about 30 mins in and around the falls. It’s like being in a lukewarm shower. Expect your clothes to get stained by the minerals in the water. Water is at most 30” at deepest point, so no swimming. But you get soaked by the falls.

A short walk down to several mineral pools surrounded by lush tropical canopy. A warm mineral waterfall that you can stand under is fairly impressive. It was a nice soak early in the morning when there was nobody there but would be hard to get a space later in the day as tours fill up. My only complaint is that they couldn't make change for 50 EC and I paid a lot more than the posted rate as such. Worth checking out though.
