- bluesegwaySoldotna, AK3 contributionsI have been to Grace Bay probably 12 different times and stayed at ClubMed. I keep going back . No crowds all. Some 20 miles of pure white beach with super clear and beautiful water. I use the Hobie Cats allot and snorkel. Best overall FUN and beautiful. No Children at ClubMed.Written March 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Leigh-Ann MFranklin, TN26 contributionsIt was almost a shock to step from the beach access walkway out onto the beach - it was maybe top ten views of a lifetime. My husband remarked “it’s like the world’s biggest kiddie pool!” Not because there were kids in it, but because it is literally a massive enclosed bay that is 2-3 feet deep. You can walk 500 feet out before the water even reaches hip level. It was smooth water with very little wind. The beach was quiet; those who were there were very friendly (not so bougie like Grace Bay and Long Bay). We were SO glad we went. (And not a dog in site, btw)Written March 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kelly VCharlton, NY307 contributionsThis is a must see, if you’re visiting the island. You can park at Neptune Villas, where you can rent a kayak and take a trip around the sound. It is a very quiet place, other than the roosters and dogs you can hear in the early morning, I only know this as we stayed at Neptune Villas. If you want to make a morning of this you can park next to the Villas, drive past, and there is rough parking lot on the right where Sapodilla Beach is just a short walk across the beach which is beautiful, and great for small children as the water is very shallow. You can also eat lunch at the Las Brisas, and have beautiful views of the sound. Getting to the Chalk Sound from the Grace Bay Areas is very easy, however you do have to drive on their main road through very poor structures and housing, with stray dogs all over. I will try to write this in all of my reviews, as I was surprised about all of the stray dogs, which did upset our family as we are animal lovers.Written March 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jamie HarrisonPlano, TX1 contributionAmazing beach. Calm, shallow water with perfectly soft sand. At the entrance there are vendors. Keep walking to the end to get to a more private space. Bring your own chairs or rent; either way it’s a beautiful beach.Written March 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kelly VCharlton, NY307 contributionsWe planned on going to the Fish Fry for dinner, a family of four, as we read about the reviews. Much of the food was fried fish, lobster and conch that you get at the restaurants for nearly the same prices. It was a great atmosphere, we parked on a side street, however they do have someone controlling traffic. There are drink vendors as well, and island gifts. Not that many places to sit, so you may have to wait, or scout out a table which we did, so that we didn’t end up standing. We decided to share a few things so that we could go out later and find some more food and drinks on the water. This event is close to the Grace Bay tourist area. I’m glad we checked it out, something different to do for the family. We did also get some beach sand souvenirs.Written March 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mjharris6Cary, NC9 contributionsParty of 9, visited Bight Reef in August 2022. 4 adults/5 teens. Incredible snorkelling just steps into the water. You really only need a mask- I don't wear fins or the tube attachment. The reef is SO close to the beach you are almost on top of it the moment you walk in the water. We brought hammock-type floats and laid on them, just put your face in the water- it is as if you are in an actual aquarium. There is a vendor right as you walk onto the beach to rent chairs and such- but we just brought towels from our hotel and plopped down. We ate at Somewhere Cafe right on the beach, great little spot with yummy food and drinks- and really great service!!Written August 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Leigh-Ann MFranklin, TN26 contributionsWe went in a very windy day, so it was really fun to watch the kitesurfing. Too cold and windy for anyone to want to go in the water.Written March 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jan154982Oakville, Canada465 contributionsLeeward Beach is a beautiful beach in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos. The sand is white and the beach is quiet and relaxing. Lovely place to swim in the sea. One of the best beaches in Turks & Caicos.Written February 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - danno6317Ontario, Canada96 contributionsFeb 11th stopped in on our first full day in Turks & Caicos. Place was packed but after a few tasting managed to get a table & then met some fantastic people here also. Beer was good & vibe was good also. Closes a bit to early but that's how things go when your having fun I guess. Staff was hectic busy but well under control about everything. Good visit here & good brewery. I recommend trying there house craft brews were all good.Written March 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TJLovestoTravelWisconsin161 contributionsIf you are the adventurous type would highly recommend kayaking over there. We rented a tandem Kayak from blue collective. Just showed up, no reservations. That being said I would recommend some experience in a kayak if you choose this, as you are crossing a busy boat channel. But if you are experienced kayaker, very doable and worth the short 30-35 min trip to the bay. We found a spot to land down a little way from the entrance and found a trail that took us to the other side where a beautiful bay was. We were alone for about 10 min before a tour group came. I would definitely pack a lunch and set up a spot on that bay again if you have time!Written February 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay Son56 contributionsThis was possibly my favourite spot on the entire island.
TLDR: Must see spot
The drive down is treacherous. I saw a number of small cars down in the car park right at the beach and personally I do not recommend driving any car down this road. It would be extremely easy to get stuck or do major damage to a rental car. You do not want your holiday ruined by having to deal with dealing with the financial fallout of a poor decision. Any rental car company will take every dollar from you if you damage a car on this trail.
I suggest only attempting this road with a skilled driver and all-wheel drive/4X4 and a vehicle that has a high clearance off the ground. If you only have a car, I suggest parking at a safe spot (before the red barrier/gate) and walking down to the beach. Once you pass the red barrier/gate, the road gets really rough, really fast.
Anyway at this point, let's assume you have made it down safely.
There are no washrooms, running water, beach attendants, vendors, lifeguards down here. Usually, this place is empty. Be warned that along the entire path off the main road, all the way to the water, there are many security cameras, including some rotating cameras that monitor the beach and the sea. This is a really isolated beach with spectacular views. There is a gazebo if you need some shade while out enjoying the view. There are some really nice reefs, both real and artificial that make for memorable diving. There are posted maps and visuals that help you get an idea of what you will find.
This spot was recommended to me by a fellow tourist, and I am glad i was able to make the trek down. I think everyone should make this journey.Written August 25, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My snorkeling cruise did just that and they pointed it out. We later got to see the process of removing a conch from its shell and it was a tad brutal and a little disgusting. It is an interesting experience though.Written December 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Miles ArcherBoca Raton, FL7,483 contributionsThe water was calm when my wife and I went snorkeling. Others were in the water doing the same thing. We were good swimmers and didn't use a life jacket, though other swimmers who were snorkeling did wear life jackets. You don't have to swim far out from the beach to see marine life. We saw all manner of animals, including sponges corals, anemones, starfish, sea urchins, among others. And reef fish large and small -- angelfish, butterfly fish, damsels, grouper, a moray eel, parroting, a trigger fish, and more. We dove down for brief moments to get closer to the animals. We saw a couple of rays near the bottom.Written March 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
