Scott Bay Beach Caneel Bay
#23 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
Seven amazing beaches, Scotts, Hawknest and Paradise are my favs.
It had the best snorkeling of the seven beaches and plenty of shade to get out of the sun.
Hansen Bay Beach East End
#27 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
beautiful beach and great snorkeling.........its very secluded and away from the other beaches, requires a bit of a drive to get here if you are staying near cruz bay, but well worth the drive.
Hansen Bay Beach is a truly unique St. John experience and one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Maho Beach Cruz Bay
#30 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
Words cannot do any of St. John's beaches justice, but if you're looking for a (usually) calm, shallow, white sand beach complete with palms, and very close parking, this is it.
I love this beach and we have been to all of the beaches on St. John over the past 10 years and this beach is a long, long stretch, gorgeous sand and very calm so it is great for children and floating on a raft!

Trunk Bay Virgin Islands National Park
#33 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
... you will love the underwater snorkeling trail!!! We've been to St. John several times, and although we do love Trunk and stop and the overlook multiple times on our trips, we would rather explore other beaches.
It is a beautiful beach with good snorkeling and unlike most of the beaches on St. John, there are bathrooms, showers, and concessions available at the beach.

Salomon Beach
#34 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
I truly believe Salomon Beach is still one of the best, and often overlooked, beaches on St John.
Just make the easy hike from Cruz Bay and you'll be rewarded with a more private, but very beautiful beach.
Maho Bay Virgin Islands National Park
#35 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
Maho bay is one of the best beaches to visit when on St. John with soft sand and loads of marine life to be seen from sting rays to sea turtles.
This beach in the national park has lovely sand beaches, decent snorkeling and usually has several sea turtles grazing in the depths.

Salt Pond Bay Virgin Islands National Park
#44 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
Salt Pond Bay beach was beautiful with lovely multi hued blue water, nice sand, and super views - like so many of the St. John beaches.
Like so many of St. John's beautiful beaches, Salt Pond offers the white sands and panoply of blues typical of this Island.
Jumbie Beach Virgin Islands National Park
#53 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
It's a smaller beach and as with most north shore beaches in the fall/winter, the swells are pretty large.
JB requires that one takes a simple short hike (1/8 to 1/4 mile) down a smooth gravel path, arriving at a beautiful small beach where one can enjoy a less crowded beach that offers beautiful sand and snorkeling!
Little Lameshur Bay Virgin Islands National Park
#55 of 133 Outdoor Activities in St. John
Tip: On days when cruise ships dock in St. Thomas, the North Shore beaches tend to become a bit more populated with those who choose to make a day trip to St. John.
This is one of our favorite beaches on St. John.

The water was perfect, swimming in crystal clear water with perfect white sand, snorkeling was great off to the right and around to a secret tiny hidden beach.
It's a great sandy beach that does see some minor waves from time to time that makes for good boogie boarding for little ones.
