Visited this lake recently and had a lovely time walking around part of it, the views are spectacular as was the wildlife. We parked in the public car parking area on the right as you drive into the lane. It’s a big old lake which you can also cycle around it if you’re up to it..it can get a bit muddy in places so prepare beforehand..
The old nuclear plant is a big old ugly thing but it’s been decommissioned so hopefully won’t be there much longer…

Be aware that the little carpark is now closed off but you can park nearby. Sad, but assume Covid issue? The site is still accessible although one gate closed off. No interpretation panel on site and path through old farmhouse closed. Wonderful views from the motte and can see most of the site. Still worth a visit but plan ahead.

My partner and I did a sheep walk at Sheep Walk Snowdonia in September. The sheep walks are run by a farming family who really care about their animals. We had a good hour of walking through the fields with a sheep each and then had a chance to give the sheep some nuggets of feed as a reward at the end of the walk. We were made to feel very welcome. This is a great thing for a family to do, or for adults who live a town or city and want the chance to spend some time with these lovely sheep. I would highly recommend it.
