Absolutely worth the visit. Make sure to hike the circuit. Great cafe on right side by chapel. More importantly, read the history of the lake as a destination for high, important concentration camp prisoners toward the end of WWII. I am a historian and had no idea of this place and story. Boats to rent. We visited at end of day in mid October so maybe 50 total visitors which is way less than the record of 17000 in one summer day.

We went originally to see the castle and find out about the gardens. The castle history displays were good. The gardens were amazing. Garden plants from all over the world - labeled with info. Grouped into different kinds of climates/gardens. Excellent layout with winding paths (very well marked and a good map). Nice places to sit and eat. Just overall a very impressive experience.

The most beautiful mountain in the World

    Amazing ski view

Not much snowing (funny weather) as it was raining the day we arrived (such luck)
Yet we get to ski daily but by afternoon its sloshy and mogul appearing at certain slopes but we got good training for rough skiing conditions … ) the weather was warm thanks to climate change 🙏
When weather improved, it was blue sky and mesmerising and our jaw dropped every time…😊🤩💕

Really impressive, Italian, German and English to every display and laid out well. You never feel hemmed-in and the way everything is displayed just right, fascinating and informative.

Parking costs 2 eur per hour.
The whole trail was covered with snow.

The well marked route starts at the parking (1,40€/hour or 6€/day) at Campo Tures and leads to the waterfalls. There is a little climb, but several benches let you catch your breath, up to the highest waterfall, which is very strong, so be prepared to get wet while taking photos. It takes less than an hour to see everything, walking very calmly. An excellent experience. No entrance fee.

Merano is a charming little down to stroll around with some interesting shops and restaurants. in many ways it seems more Italian than the Germanic-feeling nearby Bolzano. If you want to have a look at the historic centre there's an excellent carpark just across the river where you can use a footbridge to gain access.

We saw this lake on our way back from Italy and we decided to stop by. The lake has beautiful bluegreen water, similar to Lago di Braises and there are stunning views. We recommend parking until the restaurant as then you are basically at the shore of the lake. Parking was for free but we took the last spot at around 1pm, therefore arrive earlier if you want to park there and its nice weather (as many people go there for a beach). You can walk around the lake and enjoy the beautiful views. This is an alternative to lago di Braises; however, you shouldnt miss that one either. We also had lunch in the restaurant at the shore and it was very enjoyable and great food, not a tourist trap. It is worth exploring this area.

Note - just hiked this path on 9/21/22. Wanted to mention that the public restroom spot on the path was currently closed, so plan accordingly. There are a few inns with food along the trail (likely facilities are for patrons but might work out in a pinch if you run into any issues)

We hiked from the top of the Gilf Promenade to where the path of the trail ends above Quarazze (did not continue down the road to Quarazze) We are relatively good paced hikers and it took about an hour out and then an hour back as well.

Beautiful Seceda, but sometimes untouchable. We visited Seceda twice on late May, 2024 within 3 days.
1st attempt was on the 1st operation day of the cable car. When we reach the top, the snow and wind was just too strong that we can hardly see anything. No mountains non footpath. So we have to cancel our original idea of walking down to Fermeda-Hutte and find an alternative route. Finally we manage to reach the hutte 20 mins walk from Col Raiser cable car.
The 2nd time was two day later on June 2, the weather was nice with occasional sunshine. We discovered the beauty of Seceda on and off from the clouds. Some path still covered with snow, but manageable. Then we noticed that the Fermeda -Hutte was just slightly down the path, in the middle of the valley.
If you have a few days in Val Gardena, better to buy the multi day cable car pass to save, just in case the weather is not as expected, you can still revisit your target anytime without worrying about the cable car ticket cost.

Lovely Dolomiti mountain pass posessing many breathtaking landscapes. Accessible by car, but be careful especially during the winter.
