We hadn't been to Maja's since before the pandemic, and we're very glad we did, since we learned this will be the last season for dinner theatre in the garden as Maja moves on the her next adventure: politics! Vote Maja for Mayor!

The meal was outstanding! I especially enjoyed the starter: beet salad and cucumber soup. But the main was delicious, too: beef in sauce and seasoned beans. And the dessert: almond torte: yummy!

Luckily we were blessed with a warm evening and stayed right until the end to enjoy the entertainment. I will miss these events. Always a part of our Manitoulin experience.

So, if you want it to be part of yours, book now because when summer's over, so are these wonderful garden feasts.

Stopped here with my grandmother who grew up on a farm. She and I were very impressed about the amount of farm equipment and pioneer artifacts on display. It was interesting to see the old equipment, and the actual museum is an old pioneer house, so the atmosphere of the museum is perfectly fitting. Personally, I would go to see the museum if you have time to spend there, you have to take time to see everything.

    Awesome trail!
Right in Mindemoya so very accessible yet you feel miles away from the village. All trails are very well maintained and marked and provide something for everyone - from very easy to a little more challenging. Super interesting too. Lots of interesting discoveries on the fossil trail (please leave everything where it is for those that follow). The alvar field is extensive and an experience. Saw a pileated woodpecker at eye level on the escarpment. Ended up spending over 2 hours exploring even the trail system is only about 3 km. Well worth a visit.

My friends and I have come here on Thanksgiving day, staying for 3 nights at Pirate's Cove Cottages for many years. Some years, the course has been closed, but John parked carts out back of our cabin, left the tee boxes and pins in, cut the greens the day we arrived, and even blew leaves off the greens - even though we were pretty much the only ones on the course. Needless to say, Cheryl and John go above and beyond the call of duty to make you feel welcome. We all love the course and the accommodations! The course is not easy for a 9 hole tract, but a lot of fun to play, and the holes are interesting. My friend Paul who passed away recently claimed the tee box on Hole #6 (nicknamed "Tequila Ridge") was one of his favourite places in the world, and I have to agree with him! Hoping to come back again soon!
