Truly a spiritually spectacular experience. My daughter and I attended together. Not only did we love being in the cool, crisp mountain air with the cool pine and cedar scent around us, we loved learning so much about this first nation culture in such a spectacularly artistic way. I can only describe it as "light art." You truly need to experience it!

My husband and I choose the self guided tour. Everything was labeled in both English and French. This is a small museum that takes about 1.25 hours with the self guided tour if you read all the plaques. The long house alone is worth the tour!

My only gripe was the guided tour in front of us basically took over the entire long house. When it came time for us to see the long house the group was engrossed with the guide in French. We choose not to stay and returned the next day to tour with permission of the museum staff the long house. I can see this being an issue for individuals touring outside of a group. You end up on top of each other since it’s a small museum.

Price was competitive with the average museum entry. No complaints there!

Beautiful falls! Very impressive with interesting signage. Take the trail into the woods behind Sagemite Restaurant. In fact splurge on dinner at Sagemite and then go for a hike.

Then after, drive around the corner and go to the lookout and see the falls from another angle. Still impressive but more impressive from the walking trail.

If you cant do the stairs you can view the falls from the lookout.

Wendake is a short 20 minute drive outside of Quebec. The highlight for us was the Wendake Museum and Longhouse. They were a little challenging to find. Suggest you put the hotel in your gps as the museum is attached to it. Highly recommend using the audio guide. It was very informative. Both the museum and longhouse are really interesting. There is also a bookstore in the downtown area which has additional information. Most of it is in French but there was a small section in English. Weather permitting, I would also recommend checking out the waterfalls and trail across from the bookstore and next door to the amphitheater.

Went on Sunday 15th as part of a Cross Canada trip. Drove out from central Quebec on a Sunday morning, through a suburb into the start of a farming area. Entered as a group just as the venue opened, and because we had to wait for the English tour to begin we wandered around including visiting the gift shop. The guide was incredibly enthusiastic in telling us about her heritage and seemed absolutely genuine. She knew her stuff and made the various buildings and features come alive. We didn’t stop for the dance feature (extra cost) and found the items in the shop very expensive.

We ate in the main restaurant area - Sunflower soup, bison sausages/fish cakes; maple cake – basic but not unpleasant. Lots to drink - our guide made the mistake of saying we were in a hurry - plates were removed before we had finished.
