The signage outside the entrance to the Stampede states the obvious and is pretty close to the truth!
Was lucky enough to attend the 2nd and 3rd last days of the 2023 Stampede and found it to be an unforgettable experience!
The rodeo was non stop action and the evening chuck waggon races and light show 2nd to none in entertainment value.
Apart from the main arena, the overall fair ground was massive and held over 100.000 people each day I believe.
Anyone with an interest in rodeo or cowboy events should certainly put this
    rodeo on their "bucket List".

    Calgary Tower.
Great landmark and definitely worth the $20 entry. Wasn’t all that busy and great way to see all of Calgary and the mountain line off in the distance.

Be mindful if your afraid of of heights or struggle being at heights the tower does lightly sway when it’s windy like today.

We had such a peaceful visit coming here! There's paid parking available across the road, and a small bridge connecting the two together make it great for a leisure walk. There's cute little sculptures around the park, so see if you can find them along your trail! Plenty of benches to rest on, so you can also watch the cute little ducks waddle around or maybe a squirrel climb a tree. All in all, this was a great stop to smell the roses as some would say.

What a place. While we have been to a number of military museums, this one strikes the appropriate balance between education and honoring the people who serve. We spent over 3 hours and did not see it all — there are short movies which really add to the education and help explain many aspects of the different wars that Canadian men and women served. The exhibits really showcased the struggles and Valor of the Canadian military.

The Bow River was a major waterway of Calgary. I walked over some bridges of this River, and I took multiple walks which paralleled this River.

Poles and clamps for your footwear would be helpful but we managed with runners and hiking boots. The creek is frozen with some open patches of slow-running water: just gorgeous ice crystals along the edges of the open water spots! We enjoyed walking on the creek for an unique view that is normally inaccessible to foot traffic.

Since it was difficult to park in Calgary, I found it very advantageous to walk around this major city. Once I parked my car, I became a pedestrian. There were many paths in which to walk throughout the city and I enjoyed the great gardening skills exhibited throughout Calgary. The architecture of the skyscrapers and of the residential buildings were fascinating. There were also many waterways to cross by a number of bridges.

We attended one of the jumping competitions at Spruce Meadows. The grounds are very beautiful, immaculately maintained. There are some good (though pricey) options for food and drink, as well as some souvenir shops focused on horse riding memorabilia, as well as the professional soccer club (Calgary Cavalry) which plays its home games at the premises.

I did enjoy once again the experience of watching the horses jumping and walking around the very picturesque premises, especially after the grounds were basically closed for a couple of years due to covid. It is one of a type kind of experience in Calgary, and a great activity for children too!
