Stephen Avenue Walk is a wonderful place all year. It's a bit tricky when it's cold in the winter to enjoy it as much, but Calgary has inaugurated a couple of winter festivals, Chinook Blast and Calgary Glow, to make this amazing place more inviting at that time. The festivals are slightly different, but their operations overlap, and so to know more about them, you DO need to consult their web sites. It's brilliant for families with kids, adults who just want to see something unique, photographers, anybody who just wants to get out in on a winter's evening. It VERY well organized, washrooms, fire pits, things to see and do. If you live in Calgary, or are visiting, DO NOT miss Stephen Avenue Walk during the winter festivals!

This is an indoor fresh market. They have an extensive choices. However, this is not in the downtown neighborhood. A must see when in Calgary.

While this shopping centre is more famous for being a high-end Mecca for shoppers, there are still lots of services for us ordinary folk. I had some banking to do and the mall was quite handy for that. I've always like the food court, but now with COVID it's more complicated - thank goodness I wasn't in the market for lunch. One of the best things that happened recently was the addition of the enclosed pedestrian crossing over Macleod Trail, providing an easy link to the big box stores on the other side, as well to the Chinook LRT station. There's a lot of pedestrian traffic in between the station and the mall, and the beautiful bridge that spans Macleod Trail provides comfort and safety to people on foot, and better traffic movement for cars.

Love this mall, you have a couple of different restaurants, really nice shops as well. On the 4th floor is a garden you can visit for free. The toilets are very clean, there is free wifi. I really enjoyed visiting it.

I needed a haircut and headed to Southcentre. It was early, no lineup, good cut. Picked up a quick coffee at one place, lottery tickets at another, and it was back to the car and home. Quick, simple. I like this place because you can generally park fairly close to an entry point if you want, and with it's circular design, it's easy to navigate inside.

With all the construction over, the dust has finally settled. The new wing is great! The mall was a bit short on sit-down coffee shops lately, with Starbucks pulling out. On my most recent visit, I noticed the old Starbucks location which has been closed for a while, as there's a drive-through at the parking lot of the Superstore across the road, is now occupied. A Good Earth is there, a great place for coffee and food.

This time they were featuring Michelle Bui, Veronika Pausova, Joe Big Snake and others. Our fave was Bui's stunning photography, gorgeous images on a vast scale. The Pausova material was overall accomplished and quite engaging, but there weren't any individual works that jumped out and grabbed me. Big Snake's video work was great. The exhibition spaces here are art in themselves, with the super-high ceilings, natural light, and stunning views of downtown to the west through gigantic windows. "The Nest," the organization's fab meeting room, had been open in the past but it was closed on this visit, likely due to social distancing constraints due to COVID. On this visit, they also did require proof of vaccination, which we support and encourage, but I don't know how long that will continue once mandates change on March 1. Best to call ahead if you're planning a visit in that period.

Marda Loop has continued to develop even more shops, restaurants, high-end grocery stores, etc., and it's well worth for visitors and Calgary residents who have not been there recently to head over and see. There's a BIG selection of eateries, it would take weeks to try to them all, and lots of little boutiques as well. Architecture buffs have lots of eye-candy here, and in the surrounding residential communities too. While not a pedestrian zone, it is a very pedestrian-friendly area. If you're coming, don't miss out on the zone around the Safeway store on the west side near Crowchild Trail, as there are more cafes and shops there too. There's a good amount of off-street parking in the various lots attached to businesses.

It is a shopping mall in the chinatown of Calgary. There is various shops, restaurants etc. A lot of the shops were closed when we were there. If you need 'made in china' things, this is absolutely the place. I like the cheerful lampions, most of them are in red as red is symbol of happiness.

Did not know about this place until I saw an event notice on FB. What I thought was a “market” event was actually an indoor farmers market. Lots of selection of fruits, veggies, sweets, and meats. Can also have a dinner and eat outside on one of the picnic tables provided. A nice way to spend an hour in the evening.

I shop here regularly, but never in the evening or on weekends.
Given that, I usually don’t have any major problems because I know my way around.
It is definitely not a tourist attraction.

There are mainly "little" shops here, along the Shopper's Drug Mart and Safeway, so there might be a great boutique just for you. Movie-goers have lots of choices at the theatre, but also lots of places to have a bite before or after the show. The theatre is in the middle of the "U" so it would be easy to get to/from your restaurant. On my last visit, there was lots of parking during the week, but on a busy weekend, might be a bit harder to find...

Sad due to fire and COVID-19 the farmers market is smaller but the food truck frenzy was great! You drive up pick a food truck line and line up. Lines up were not too long and the food came quick. We even went through twice cause we wanted something from a different food truck!

I’ve had a few business lunch meetings here since it’s a block away from my office, but sorry to say, the food is very mediocre and uninteresting. However, the service is prompt and friendly, but not enough to be a regular.
